The Sinking City 2 Shotgun – How to Get the Field Surgeon Shotgun (Out of your Shell Trophy)

The Field Surgeon Shotgun is one of the first major weapon upgrades you can get in The Sinking City 2. It is found during Chapter 2, shortly after the Church section, when you reach the canal blocked by a huge dead whale. Here’s how to get it The Sinking City 2 Shotgun.

How to Get The Sinking City 2 Shotgun

After opening the floodgate near the Church, get back into your boat and continue along the canal. Eventually, a dead whale will completely block the way forward. This is the same area where you need to repair the crane to move the whale.

For now, dock nearby and head toward the bar/saloon across from the Fire Station. The front entrance is blocked when you first arrive, so don’t waste time looking for another way in. Deal with the encounter outside and eventually one of the creatures will smash through the barricade for you.

Head through the newly opened entrance and look for the Safe Room on the first floor.

Once inside, don’t just turn around and leave through the same door. There’s another door in the Safe Room that leads farther into the bar. Go through it, then immediately turn around and check behind the bar/display area.

The Field Surgeon Shotgun is sitting there waiting to be collected. Pick it up to permanently add the Shotgun to your weapons.

Getting the The Sinking City 2 Shotgun also unlocks the Out of Your Shell achievement.

How to Get Shotgun Ammo

The easiest way to keep the The Sinking City 2 Shotgun supplied is through crafting. Each batch of 6 Shotgun Ammo requires:

• 1 Gunpowder
• 2 Chemicals

Both materials are commonly obtained while searching containers as you explore.

You can also get a guaranteed supply shortly afterward from the E.R.C. Crate inside the Fire Department. The crate is upstairs in the glass-paneled office/Day Room.

Since shotgun shells are relatively valuable, save them for close-range enemies and tougher encounters rather than using them on every creature you meet.
