One of the side quests in Where Winds Meet involves a wasp nest. The first time you will likely encounter the wasps nest is during a quest that is automatically given to you, just by playing as normal. It also involves a bear and learning the Tai Chi skill
How to Get The Wasp Nest Down From The Tree In Where Winds Meet

After being told about a bear trying to claw its way towards a wasps nest stuck in a tree. Interact with this bear, you cannot attack it as its essential to learning the Tai Chi skill. Which is a rather strange manoeuvre as it shows your character grabbing an enemy and, quite literally, throwing them. Sort of how a bear would attack its prey. Once learnt the Bear will leave but the Wasp Nest is still stuck in the tree..
Talk to the Man – Qi Sheng

Near this exact same location you should be able to hear a man screaming for help. Proceed to help him as he seems to be stuck. You will find out that his name is Qi Sheng. He will give you some fire arrows. Completely free of charge. He will then mention the Oddity. Which is the Wasp Nest stuck in the tree, that the Bear was after.
Take the fire arrows and head to the tree.
Oddity Wasp Nest – How To Get It Down

Turns out, it isn’t as easy as shooting a fire arrow at the tree and knocking the beehive down. However, we found another way to get to the beehive. Approach the tree and climb up. You’ll be able to grab the beehive, effectively finishing the quest. Not the most straightforward approach and not something you should do in real life, but it gets results.
Though, do be warned by climbing the tree you might end up getting a Wasp Sting. Which will impact your overall character health. This can be treated with higher healing mastery. Though, that requires having unlocked the Healing Profession first. Which you cannot do until you reach level 13
So, if you do happen to get a nasty sting your choices are either to head for the Clinic or have someone online, in Multiplayer Mode, heal your injuries for you. Though, they too, will need high enough mastery to provide healing.
Granted you will not get a wasp sting every time you perform this procedure of climbing trees. It’s just, at first, its not obvious how to use these Fire Arrows to get the nest down. So this is just another simple method.
And now you’ve completed the Wasp Nest Side Quest in Where Winds Meet
