Unlock 20 Hunter’s Guide Entries for Gathering Wildlife
In order to complete Wildlife Expert, you must unlock 20 Hunter’s Guide Entries for Gathering Wildlife.
You unlock Hunter’s Guide Entires by scanning or killing the different animals that you’ll encounter across Pandora. After successfully completing an entry, you’ll be able to see all kinds of information about that specific creature.
Upon collecting 20 entries, you will unlock the Hunter’s Guide achievement and earn 20 points/a bronze trophy for your efforts. This achievement isn’t quite as rewarding as others like Vision of the Ancestors. Nevertheless, it’s still required for 100% game completion.
Beyond this, collecting wildlife entries will also help you progress through the ‘One with the Clans’ quest. During this quest, you need to deliver various plants, meals, and wildlife to the community. Completing both of these in tandem can make things much more efficient, as you’ll be killing two birds with one stone.

How to Complete Wildlife Expert
There are two methods of adding hunter guide entries in Avatar Frontiers of Pandora. The first option is to scan them. You unlock this ability pretty early on in the main story. To scan an animal, hold down R1 and L3/RT and RB. After scanning, you’ll successfully unlock a new hunter guide entry.
Alternatively, you can kill and harvest different animals that you see around the map, and this will also count towards your progress. Killing the animals that you come across will also allow you to collect any loot that they drop.
However, it should be noted that only gatherable wildlife will count towards your progress. You can see which wildlife is gatherable in your in-game menu.
The best way to complete Wildlife Expert is to just go about your normal business, completing the main story and various side quests. However, as you travel, make sure to scan or kill any gatherable wildlife that you see. Over the course of a few missions, you’ll likely complete the achievement without even realizing it.
If you try to complete Wildlife Expert in one go, you probably won’t find all the wildlife you need to scan in one area. As a result, you’ll likely just give up halfway through. So it’s overall much better to just keep this one on the back burner as you get on with other tasks.
To keep track of your progress with Wildlife Expert, go to your character menu. From here, click on the ‘Hunter’s Guide’ tab, then click Wildlife (gatherable). This will show you which wildlife counts towards the achievement.
Tips on Completing Wildlife Expert
Although Wildlife Expert isn’t the most difficult achievement in Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, the sheer number of animals that you need to find can make it a pretty prolonged achievement to unlock. As such, here are a few tips that should speed up the process:
- Change the Difficulty. You can actually change the difficulty of harvesting in Frontiers. To do this, simply head to the settings menu, then go to gameplay and reduce the Gathering Complexity to low or off. This will make completing Wildlife Expert ten times easier and is a good last resort if you’re really struggling.
- Use the Materials. As you gather Hunter Entries, you’ll also start to collect a bunch of different materials. You can (and should) use these materials for a variety of crafting recipes to make your character even deadlier. You can view your materials at any time via the menu.
- Use your Na’Vi Senses. Finally, you can actually use your Na’Vi senses to highlight weak spots and track scent trails in the environment. This can help you to find different animals that would otherwise be invisible to you. Doing this will also reward you with higher-quality materials.
