Completing the Story Guardian achievement in Avatar Frontiers of Pandora can feel like a massive headache to complete. For one, the game doesn’t explain what ‘notes’ are, nor how you can find them. What’s more, you have to find a total of 30 collectibles, which is far more demanding than other achievements like Tethered Kites. If you’re struggling with Story Guardian, you’ve come to the right place, and in this guide, we’ll break down exactly how to unlock the achievement with as little effort as possible.

Collect 30 Notes
To complete Story Guardian, the only requirement is that you collect 30 notes. Notes are basically little pieces of paper that contain random pieces of information about different characters and locations. They’re not important for the story but do help to explain the deeper lore of Pandora.
There are more than 30 notes across the map, and they can be found everywhere from vehicles to the Resistance HQ. You will find them on desks, on the top of shelves, or on the floor. They’re pretty easy to miss too, as they’re often hidden amongst other junk.
Story Guardian follows the same format as most other collectible-related achievements in Frontiers, like A Good Listener. With these achievements, it doesn’t matter when or how you complete them, as long as you collect the right items!
The Story Guardian achievement is worth 36 points or a silver trophy. This achievement is unmissable. It’s also required for 100% game completion.

How to Complete Story Guardian
To complete Story Guardian, the only viable method is to explore as often as you can and pick up notes as you go. You’ll find notes in extremely random places, so just take your time to explore and you will stumble across plenty of notes. It’s not the most glamorous method in the world, but it’s the most effective.
When you get in proximity to a note, you’ll be able to pick it up by interacting with it. You can do this by holding down X (Xbox) or Square (PlayStation). You can also track your progress via the in-game menu.
So, keep exploring during story missions and free-roam, picking up any notes that you come across, and eventually you will complete Story Guardian.
Known Notes Locations
The locations for most of the notes in Avatar Frontiers are unknown. However, there are five confirmed locations. Collecting these notes will help you progress through Story Guardian:
- Anqa’s Personal Log: No News. Found in the Resistance HQ, on a desk in the main Command Center room.
- The Inevitable Return. Also located in the Command Center, in one of the cubicles.
- Turning The Tables. Likewise located in the Command Center, on one of the metal shelves in the server room.
- SciOps Work Order 001. Located in the Silk Woods. Walk along the Threaded River and you should come across a computer terminal. You’ll find the note next to the terminal. This is one of the trickiest collectibles to locate when completing Story Guardian.
- Kame’tire Folktale. Found within the Silk Woods. You’ll first need to liberate the Gas Harvester Alpha Outpost. From here, go to the Southwestern section of the outpost and you will find the note in the parked vehicle.
Other than this, the locations of the notes in Avatar Frontiers of Pandora are unknown. Finding them is a case of trial and error.
Tips on Completing Story Guardian
Follow these tips to make completing Story Guardian a bit easier:
- Head to the Resistance HQ. Out of all of the locations in Pandora, the Resistance HQ holds the most notes. This makes it a great place to start your Story Guardian hunt. Just make sure you visit it before the ‘Victory Celebration’ story mission, as the HQ becomes unavailable after this point. Whilst you’re at the HQ, you should also keep an eye out for audio logs.
- Explore Thoroughly. Notes are hidden in literally every corner of the map. So it’s important to take your time to explore every room, desk, cabinet, and shelf as you progress through the story. This will take time, but there’s really no other way to complete Story Guardian and earn that platinum trophy!
