Touch 20 Tarsyu Saplings

To complete Sprouting Potential, the only requirement is that you touch 20 Tarsyu Saplings.

Tarsyu Saplings are a type of plant in Avatar. They are easily recognizable thanks to their bright purple color and unique flowers. There are around 30 in the entire map and are marked as discoverable waypoints on your map.

After you touch 20 Tarsyu Saplings, you will unlock the Sprouting Potential achievement and earn 20 points/a bronze trophy as a reward. This is a pretty low reward when compared to other achievements like Father and Son in the Stars. Nevertheless, it’s still required for 100% completion.

Aside from the trophy achievement, hunting down all the Tarsyu Saplings in Avatar Frontiers is worth it because you’ll level your character up exponentially. Whenever you touch a Tarsyu Sapling, you will earn one skill point, which you can use to upgrade your character. What this means is that, by completing Sprouting Potential, you will also earn 20 skill points, which you can use to become an unstoppable force in Pandora.

How to Complete Sprouting Potential

There’s really only one way to complete Sprouting Potential, which is to explore every pink waypoint on your map, as and when you discover them. Pink waypoints mark a point of interest on the map and could indicate a number of things, including Tarsyu Saplings. Unfortunately, there’s no way of telling which waypoints indicate a sapling. So, you’ll just have to rely on luck and head to as many waypoints as you can until you complete Sprouting Potential.

However, there is a more efficient method that you should consider employing. First, you’ll need to head to the Clouded Forest. From here, fly to the crying giant mountain, which is the tallest one in the area. Find the lake and head upstream. You will come across something called the ‘Tasrsyu Network’. Interacting with this will give you the ‘Ancestor Skill’, which will allow you to:

“Learn to improve your natural connection to the Tarsy network with this Sarentu Memory. As you find more tarsyu saplings you will gain greater insight into where others may grow.”

Essentially, this skill will make it much easier to find Tarsyu saplings, and in turn complete Sprouting Potential. Therefore it’s recommended that you pick this up before you go sapling hunting.

Tips on Completing Sprouting Potential

Sprouting potential is one of those achievements that looks pretty easy on the surface. However, when you actually try to complete it, you’ll realize it’s a whole lot more difficult! With this in mind, here are a few tips that should make your journey of completing Sporuting Potential a little easier.

  • Be Mindful of Height. As previously mentioned, the locations of all the Tarsyu Saplings will appear on your map. However, your map won’t tell you the vertical dimension of the sapling. This means that a sapling could be on the top of a mountain or a cave hundreds of meters below, which makes finding them even harder. As such, when you reach a marked location on your map, take your time to explore the area as the sapling could still be in any number of places.
  • Complete Multiple Achievements Together. Because the Tarsyu Saplings are dotted all over the map, it’s a good idea to work on a few achievements alongside Sprouting Potential. For instance, you could look to tune all the Aeolian Wind flutes, and then explore each waypoint in the vicinity of each flute. This will make completing Sprouting Potential a whole lot easier, and you’ll also become a much more efficient trophy hunter!
  • Use Your Skill Points. Finally, it’s important to remember that every time you touch a Tarsyu Sapling, you will receive a skill point. Skill Points are incredibly powerful, so remember to use them instead of letting them go to waste.
