Nian Suichang Quests are a series of missions featuring this important Wuchang Fallen Feathers NPC. He appears several times throughout the game. Completing his quest line rewards you with the Zhanlu Sword, one of the 24 weapons needed to unlock the Legendary Collector trophy. Let’s see where you can find him!
Wuchang Fallen Feathers Nian Suichang Quests and Interactions
Worship’s Rise Locations
Narrow Stretch
You will meet Nian Suichang for the first time in the Narrow Stretch. Leave Lightzen Temple, go across the river, and spot him waiting for you next to a tree. Talk to him and explore all the dialogue options to receive the Bone Whistle and the Well Met emote.
Shu Sanctum
The second interaction takes place on the first floor of Shu Sanctum near the shrine. Go to the third floor and defeat the Feathered Priest – Lu Bingzhang boss to obtain the Mercurial Blood. Give Nian this item and receive three Soft Rush items.
Reverent Temple
Look for the NPC on the second floor and talk to him to get three Kong Wires. After defeating Commander Honglan in the Tang Palace, go to the Reverent Temple courtyard to meet Nian again and collect five Spicy Soups.
Cloudspire – Expose Niang Suichang or Not?
Hillswatch
Leave the shrine, pass through the village, and, before you reach the tower, notice the NPC on the right. Talk to him and find out that he lost something. Go further, where you will run into an enemy. Look for the Tattered Pack item in the grass. Return to Nian, give him the pack, and get ready to make a choice:
- Expose Nian Suichang. He turns into a boss later in the game.
- Remain silent. He doesn’t turn into a boss.
The better option is to remain silent, so you don’t have to fight him. On the other hand, he is a tough enemy and if you’re looking for an extra challenge, you can expose him. The rewards are the same in both cases.
Rebel Camp
You will meet him again before fighting the General of the North – Ai Nengqi. Summon him to help with this fight and return to his location to get three Kong Wines.
Nian Suichang Quests in Mt. Zhenwu
Refugee Camp
You will meet him twice in this area. Look for him close to the shrine and receive three Emerald Lotus Seeds. Defeat the Bo Sorcerer, follow the path behind the boss location and go right two times to find him again before the bridge. This time, you receive three Nitter Fire Pots after talking to him.
Zhenwu Antechamber
Defeat South General – Liu Wenxiu and look for Nian on the walkway above the boss location. Interact with him to get three Soft Rush Flowers.
Fierce Tiger Sovereign Zhang Xianzhong Fight
Use the Bone Whistle and call him as an ally for this fight. Take the path leading to the cave and talk to him near the cave entrance to collect three Special Pills. This is also the point of no return, so make sure you have completed all interactions and missions before going further.
Worship’s Rise in Ruins
From the Shu Sanctum shrine, make your way to the top of the cliff. This is where you face the consequences of the choice you made in Cloudspire:
- If you exposed Nian, you will fight him and collect the Champion armor set, the Sword of Judgment quest item, and the unique weapon, Zhanlu Sword.
- If you remained silent, he doesn’t turn hostile and you can grab the Sword of Exorcism quest item next to him. Go to a shrine to Enter the Dream and return to his location to get the Zhanlu Sword, the Champion set, and the Sword of Judgment.
