General Zenless Zone Zero Currency Types
We call this category general or basic because this is the most-used money in the game. There are three types of general currency: Denny, Polychrome, and Monochrome.
Denny – Standard Zenless Zone Zero Currency
Denny is the main ZZZ currency. You can think of it as gold in other games. If you’ve played Genshin Impact, Denny is the equivalent of Mora.
How to Acquire: Complete story content, training with the VR Device, Random Play, Inter-Knot leveling, Notorious Hunts, in exchange for Fading Signals, and various other activities.
Use: Buy items and upgrades.
Monochrome – Premium Zenless Zone Zero Coins
Monochrome is a paid currency bought with real money. There is no way to obtain it from playing the game.
How to Acquire: In exchange for real money from the Monochrome market, as a reward for purchasing the optional premium Inter-Knot membership.
Use: Purchase items from the Bundle shop, exchange it for Polychrome.
Polychrome – Valuable Zenless Zone Zero Currency
Polychrome is considered a valuable currency because it is obtained less often than Denny and used for essential items.
How to Acquire: Exchanged for Monochrome at a 1:1 ratio, Bounty Commissions, Errands, complete main story quests, redemption codes.
Use: Restore Battery Charges, buy Master Tape and Encrypted Master Tape from the Signal shop, buy ZZZ battle pass levels.
Special Zenless Zone Zero Currency Types
Special or Gacha currency has less generic uses than the aforementioned coins. However, these are also important because they unlock new Agents, essential items, upgrade materials, and more.
Residual Signal
How to Acquire: From the Signal Search when players obtain a rank S, A, or B Agent or W-Engine.
Use: Buy rare items from the Signal shop and additional pulls.
Fading Signal
How to Acquire: From the Signal Search when the player gets an already-owned rank B W-Engine.
Use: Buy Master and Encrypted Master Tape from the Signal Shop and additional pulls.
Gear Coin
How to Acquire: Hollow Exploration when doing story, combat, or exploration missions.
Use: Unlocks doors, upgrades.
Master Tape
How to Acquire: Buy for 160 Polychromes, story content, Agent ascending.
Use: Roll on the Stable Channel for standard banners and permanent Agents.
Encrypted Master Tape
How to Acquire: Buy for 160 Polychromes, story content, events.
