Commander Beetle is a boss from Chapter 4 that can be found in the Temple of Yellow Flowers, Forest of Ferocity. Read on to learn about Commander Beetle’s attack patterns and strategies to defeat it.
Commander Beetle’s Attack Patterns
Commander Beetle has five various attacks that rely on its sword. In its simplest attack, the Commander will swing its sword once in your direction during close combat. Your cue to dodge is when he raises his sword. The boss also has two different sword-spinning attacks. In one of these attacks, it’ll spin twice while pressured to push you back. Dodge has its building momentum. In the second version of this, the boss will spin and then slam its sword into you. Dodge when it begins to spin.
In its next attack, the boss will charge you and do a spin-jump before slashing you. When it’s running at you, keep your distance to avoid this attack. The boss has a ranged attack. In this attack, it’ll slam its sword into the ground, sending wind blades in your direction. You can jump or dodge to avoid this slower attack.
The boss also had a simple, but powerful, attack that you need to avoid. It’ll swing its sword at you once, and after a 1-second delay, a whirlwind appears around it for a split second. This whirlwind deals high damage.
Strategies to Defeat Commander Beetle
Commander Beetle doesn’t fight alone, unfortunately. It has allies on its side, but you can use a Pluck of Many to take out its followers. While your clones are busy, turn your attention to the boss. You can use Immobilize, heavy attacks, and the Wandering Wight spirit to deal a good chunk of damage.
