In this Black Myth: Wukong How to Defeat Scorpionlord guide, we’re going over how to defeat this optional, but very tough, boss in Chapter 4. The Scorpionlord can be found on the Purple Cloud Mountain. Make sure to defeat him before going after the Duskveil if you want its rewards.
Scorpionlord’s Attack Patterns
Despite only having about five different attacks, the Scorpionlord is one of the hardest bosses in the fourth chapter. His attacks, with and without poison damage, are powerful. The Scorpionlord mostly uses his tail and stringer to fight, so keep your eye on it. In one attack, he’ll spin three times in an attempt to hit you with his stinger. If you see the stringer raised in the air, go ahead and back up. This attack is easier to dodge from a distance. He’ll also jab his stringer at you twice, leaving poison on the ground. If you see the stinger glowing, dodge to the side twice.
While under pressure, the Scorpionlord will also use his stringer to attack you. He’ll try to stab you with it four times in four different ways: an upward stab, a slam, a spin, and then a trust. After dodging the first attack, keep dodging to the side to avoid the rest.
Next, the Scorpion will use his pincers. He’ll charge you with them at one point, so dodge to the side to avoid this. In another attack, he’ll dig underground and attack you from below. A gust of wind usually signals when and where he’s about to come back up.
How to Defeat the Scorpionlord
Timing your dodges is very important in this fight since the Scorpionlord does so much damage. Avoid any poison he leaves behind as well and do your best to memorize his attacks and cues. This is no easy way out of this fight.
