In this Black Myth: Wukong How to Defeat Yin Tiger guide, we’re covering how to defeat this optional NPC. Yin Tiger is a blacksmith in the third chapter who you can challenge to a duel. He can be found near Bitter Lake.
Yin Tiger Preparations

Yin Tiger isn’t a super hard boss, so there isn’t much you need to do to prepare for the fight, but Cloud Step is useful spell to have. Make sure you have used all your unspent sparks to upgrade your foundations and stances. As always, going for stamina and health is your safest route. Upgrading these areas will ensure you last longer in a fight and that you don’t consume nearly as much stamina while dodging and sprinting.
Yin Tiger’s Attack Pattern

Yin Tiger wields a greatsword that he will charge you with before swinging it towards the ground. This will cause a brief explosion and he usually does this twice. Dodge right when he swings and stay behind him. He also tends to swing his sword above his head before doing another combo, so this is your cue to get out of his way.
The boss can teleport and he’ll appear swinging. Right before he reappears, you’ll see leaving moves on the ground. If you move away from them, then you’re less likely to get hit by the boss. Having Cloud Step as a comeback attack is helpful. He can also disappear after you’ve staggered him. He’ll reappear and grab you and take a good chunk of your health, so make sure to dodge as soon as he reappears.
Lastly, Yin Tiger has a combo where he’ll charge you in the middle of performing one of his swinging sword attacks. This can be dodged if you time your dodges correctly.
