This Black Myth Wukong Upper Hollow guide explores the first area of the Webbed Hollow in Chapter 4. After a trek through the Village of Lanxi and the encounter with the Second Sister, Sun Wukong continues his incursion into the Webbed Hollow.
Black Myth Wukong Upper Hollow Part 1 – The Area Around the Shrine
Sun Wukong wakes up deep beneath the Village of Lanxi. Next to the bed, you will find a treasure box containing one Longevity Decoction and three Anti Miasma Powders. On the left side of the bed, another chest reveals the Cuo Jin-Yin Belt Hook Curio.
Upper Hollow Shrine Location

Follow the main path to reach the Black Myth Wukong Upper Hollow shrine. Walk ahead and beware of the Puppet Tick on the cliff. Follow the inclined left path to the bridge where you will find a green Wisp. The derelict nearby house hides a treasure chest. One Puppet Spider and some Stone Spiders are guarding it. Go back up the path and check the houses heading towards the gate. As you go through the gate, you will find a chest with a Goji Shoots Soak.
Advance towards the cave and keep an eye out for the Dragonfly Guai. The path to the left leads to an area above the Upper Hollow shrine. Go there and take the green Wisp. On the right, you will see a cave with small, medium, and large cocoons. The big cocoon hides a Minor Amourworm. Defeat it and check behind for the treasure chest.

Follow the path with the torches and go outside the cave. The end of the path is where you end up if you jump into the pit from the Estate of the Zhu.
Part 2 – The Cave Area
Make your way back to the Upper Hollow shrine. Look around and spot the rocky stairs on the right. As you walk along this path, you will encounter more cocoons in a big cave ahead. The alcove to the right has a green Wisp. Continue on the next path and watch out for Puppet Ticks, Stone Spiders, and a Dragonfly Guai. Take the road ahead to reach an area with a Beetle Captain and a treasure chest containing a Mind Core and a Gold Tree Core.

Now, go outside the cave and defeat the Lantern Holder and the Puppet Spider. You will end up on the other side of Upper Hollow. The platforms up ahead lead to the Middle Hollow. You can go discover the Middle Hollow shrine and come back to the Upper Hollow to explore more or continue to the Middle Hollow.
Part 3 – Exploring The Pool of Shattered Jade
Start by going back to the Upper Hollow shrine. On the right, you will see a pit through which you can drop down. Defeat the Puppet Spider and collect the green Wisp. The other path from the ledge leads to an area filled with cocoons. Clear the way and advance through this area. Destroy the cocoons on the right to loot the treasure chest. You have to take down another Beetle Captain. Don’t forget about the green Wisp ahead after you’ve defeated the Dragonfly Guai.

Go through another area with Clawed Cocoons and Puppet Spiders. Take the stairs up and reach a big area. Continue through this room as you watch out for the Puppet Spiders. You will come across the Scorpion Prince. This encounter is more challenging than the others, so prepare accordingly for the fight.
How to Find the Venom Daoist in the Upper Hollow
After you defeat the Scorpion Prince, resume your way along the path and you will reach the Pool of Shattered Jade shrine. There’s a Meditation Spot in the pool. Ahead of the Shrine lies another path with cocoons. On the other side, you will encounter the Venom Daoist boss. This is the toughest encounter in the Upper Hollow.

Once you’ve defeated him, go to the Pool of Shattered Jade shrine. Go to the wooden bridge and collect the green Wisp on the bridge. Cross the bridge and go down to find the Verdure Bridge shrine. The Upper Hollow is complete and you can advance to the Middle Hollow.
