Frostpunk 2 resources keep the city running. They are produced by buildings. Some resources are consumed by the people. Others are used as construction materials. We can categorize them in three ways.
- Building Resources.
- Population Resources.
- Supplies.
Frostpunk 2 Resources Needed For Buildings and Upgrades
District building and upgrade depends on these resources.
There are three types of building resources:
- Heatstamps.
- Cores.
- Workforce.
Heatstamps Resources In Frostpunk 2

Heatstamps are the game’s currency. They are spent on various things such as:
- Building and upgrading Districts.
- Unlocking Idea Tree technologies.
- Frostbreaking.
- Frostland expeditions.
Heatstamps are produced by the people living in your city. The bigger the population, the larger the Heatstamp income.
Cores Resources

Cores are mechanical items. You will need Cores for:
- Upgrading the Generator.
- Building advanced facilities.
Cores come from Frostland Expeditions.
Workforce Resources

The Workforce is the number of working residents. It is a percentage of the total number of people living in the city.
Workforce is needed for:
- Frostbreaking.
- District buildings and upkeep.
To get more Workforce, you need to increase the population. However, some things can affect the Workforce:
- Half Shift District action.
- Shared Workers area effect between Industrial and Extraction Districts.
- Labor laws.
Frostpunk 2 Resources Consumed by the Population
Population resources are essential for the survival and well-being of your people. As a Steward, you must ensure a stable production of these crucial resources.
There are four types of population resources:
- Heat.
- Shelter.
- Food.
- Goods.
Heat Resources In Frostpunk 2

Heat keeps the Districts running.
Districts that Require Heat:
- Central District,
- Housing District.
- Food District.
How to Generate Heat:
- Produced by the Generator using Coal.
- Heat Recycling Law.
- Area effect bonuses.
Shelter Resources

Shelter protects the people from the Cold. If your Districts run out of Heat, Cold will trouble your city.
Buildings that Produce Shelter:
- Housing District.
- Central District.
- Workers Village.
- Workers Dormitory.
- Dense Housing Block.
Food Resources

Food protects against Hunger. In addition to the buildings producing it, you can increase the Food production through laws.
Buildings that Produce Food:
- Food District.
- Central District.
- Chemical Drum Hothouse.
- Catalyst Drum Hothouse.
- Biomass Drum Hothouse.
- Biowaste Drum Hothouse.
Goods Resources

Goods represent various items needed by the population. Not having enough Goods leads to Crime.
Buildings that Produce Goods:
- Refurbished Goods Factory.
- Calibrated Goods Factory.
- Automated Goods Factory.
Frostpunk 2 Resources – Supplies
These resources are not in demand by the population. They are stored and consumed to produce other resources or to protect against certain problems.
There are four types of supplies:
- Materials.
- Coal.
- Frostland Teams.
- Guard Scouts.
Materials Resources

Materials are needed for District upkeep. Despite their name, they are not needed for construction. Materials are come from resource deposits, such as ore and wood.
Buildings that Produce Materials:
- Untreated Wood Sawmill.
- Waste Repurposing Facility.
- Steel Foundry.
- Silica Ironworks.
- Mechanized Sawmill.
- Maintenance Hub.
- Crucible Ironworks.
- Blast Steel Foundry.
- Buzzblade Woodworks.
Coal Resources

Coal is needed to generate Heat. Frostland Exploration consumes Coal.
Buildings that Produce Coal:
- Grinding Coal Mine.
- Pyrolitic Charcoal Plant.
- Dust Coal Mine.
- Deep Shaft Coal Mine.
- Blasting Coal Mine.
Frostland Teams Resources

Frostland Teams are workers outside of the city. Expeditions depend on this resource.
Buildings that Produce Frostland Teams:
- Automated Logistics Bay.
- Vanguard Logistics Bay.
Guard Scouts Resources

Guard Scouts protect against Crime and Protests.
Buildings that Produce Guard Scouts:
- Surveillance Watchtower.
