Frostpunk 2 Trust – How To Become A Popular Steward

Frostpunk 2

Frostpunk 2 Trust is a game mechanic representing the people’s level of faith in their Steward. The population’s confidence in you varies throughout the game. To increase Trust, the Steward must become popular with factions and communities.

Frostpunk 2 Trust – How to Raise the Trust Level

You can check out the current Trust status by hovering the bar at the bottom of the screen. You will see a report showing what causes Trust loss and what you can do to regain it. Keep in mind that Trust is another game mechanic that requires balance. You can always pause the game while you make a decision. Let’s see what you can do to prevent becoming Despised by your people.

Side With the Biggest Faction

Balancing the factions‘ happiness is a delicate process and you should surrender to the fact that not all factions will be pleased with your ruling. At least, not all at the same time. In this case, siding with the biggest faction is one way to gain the people’s Trust. Increase your Fervor with the faction that has the most members. This means approving research projects, promoting, and making promises. While this is a good solution, it is only a temporary one, as the opposing factions will not take neglect lightly.

Make a Promise to Influence a Faction’s Trust

All factions have demands from the Steward. Making a promise will increase your popularity with that faction, but keep in mind that you also need to keep the promise in order to get their Trust.

A promise refers to:

  • Passing a law.
  • Building a facility.
  • Researching an idea proposed by that faction.

Once you make a promise, you have a limited time to keep it. Fulfill that promise before the timer runs out to avoid further Trust loss.

Grant a Faction’s Agenda

When you grant a faction‘s agenda you are basically allowing them to choose a law. However, this doesn’t mean that their law will be automatically implemented. Each law must pass a vote. If the council decides against it, the law will not pass. Granting an agenda is sometimes better than making a promise, as Trust increases immediately after. If you don’t mind playing dirty, you could sway other factions into voting against the agenda.

Approve a Research Project

Each faction has its way of dealing with the city’s problems. They will have different ideas about the direction of development. You can easily gain a faction’s Trust by giving them Heatstamps to research projects. However, you should consider that opposing factions won’t be happy if you choose to fund the same faction too many times.

Taking Actions Affects the Frostpunk 2 Trust Level

Actions are basically the Steward’s abilities to change and influence certain things. For example, you can use the Promote action to praise a faction, or the Emergency Shift action to keep buildings running longer than usual. These actions have positive and negative effects on Trust.

Propose Laws

Even though laws represent a different mechanic, their impact on Trust works the same way as actions. One law might please a faction but upset another. Keep in mind that laws need to pass the council vote, so you can propose laws to gain a faction’s Trust, but the council has the final say.
