Rift Incompatible is a Borderlands 4 trophy that requires you to find Oddman’s final resting place. To get the trophy, you need to complete the Exit Through the Rift Shop side quest and make a specific choice at the end of the mission.

How to Start and Complete Exit Through the Rift Shop Side Quest in Borderlands 4
To unlock this side mission, you need to complete Main Mission 21: Secrets of the Vault. The side quest has multiple starting locations.
Where to Start Exit Through the Rift Shop
The quest triggers after you investigate a dead body and listen to the radio transmission. The corpse may spawn in multiple zones after you complete the Main Mission 21.
Hungering Plain in The Fadefields
The dead body is near the house.
Ruined Sumplands in Carcadia Burn
In the northern side of the area, close to the road.
Cuspid Climb in Terminus Range
The dead body is on the side of the road.
Low Leys in Terminus Range
The dead body is under the bridge.
No matter where you start the quest, Francis Oddman asks you to find him in the Dissected Plateau. Follow the marker to reach the location.
How to Complete Exit Through the Rift Shop
Go to the Deep Seven point of interest and enter the facility. The entrance is just a few steps to the south of the objective marker. Interact with Francis and accept the first task: to reach the Order Encampment and gather machine parts.
Go to the Waterstop point of interest in the Coastal Bonescape region and find the three machine parts scattered all over the place. The location is swarming with enemies, so prepare for combat.
Machine Part 1
On the upper deck on the right side.
Machine Part 2
On the upper deck on the left side.
Machine Part 3
From the previous location, jump in the water towards the objective marker to reach the small platform under the deck that leads to the machine part.
Return to Francis and install the component parts in the machine above him. Before entering the rift, take a moment and ensure you are ready for combat, as you will need to fight many enemies in the next part. Enter the rift when you are ready and clear the area. Once all the enemies are dead, follow the objective marker upstairs and interact with the console to release the prisoners.
Go to the nearby cells and talk to them for additional information on Francis Oddman. After speaking with the prisoners, go upstairs and pull the grate. Enter the vents and arrive in the storage room. Shoot the lockers to obtain Eridium.
Exit the storage room through the newly opened door and throw Eridium into the rift. Enter the rift and arrive at Oddman’s location. Defeat the enemies and confront Oddman.
How to Unlock The Rift Incompatible Trophy in Borderlands 4
You have two options:
- Punch Oddman.
- Shoot Oddman.
The quest ends no matter what choice you make, but if you want to get the achievement, you must choose to punch him. After ending the quest, make your way to Windspear in Terminus Range to find Oddman’s frozen body and unlock the achievement.
