Red Woods Fountain side quest is a Clair Obscur Expedition 33 mystery. You come across a fountain that asks you to pay a Chroma toll. Let’s see what happens if you complete this ambiguous side quest!
How to Start the Red Woods Fountain Side Quest
Progress through the main story until you complete the Flying Waters area. Once you are ready to freely explore the world, make your way northwest into the Red Woods. You can disregard the Danger notification.
Straight ahead from the entrance, you will discover the only notable thing in this area, a fountain. If you interact with the fountain, it will ask you to pour Chroma into it. Completing the request will eventually unlock a Nevron quest and bring you one step closer to obtaining the Aiding the Enemy trophy.
How to Complete the Red Woods Fountain Side Quest and Unlock the Nevron Quest
The fountain will ask you for Chroma four times:
- First request: 5000 Chroma.
- Second request: 10000 Chroma.
- Third request: 25000 Chroma.
- Fourth request: 50000 Chroma.
So, you need 90000 Chroma to finish the quest. You can complete the fountain’s request right away if you have enough Chroma. The recommendation is to save 90000 Chroma and do it all at once. As soon as you complete the final request, Benisseur will wake up and thank you. As a reward, you will receive the Recovery Picto.
What Happens If You Fight Benisseur
Benisseur will not attack you, but you have the option to attack him. The trick with the fight is that you have to survive. Benisseur performs only one attack. He will throw bubbles at you.
The strategy is to keep the party alive. Parry, dodge, and use healing abilities. After several attacks, Benisseur will die and you receive Chroma, three Colour of Lumina, and one Grandiose Chroma Catalyst for your troubles.
What Happens If You Don’t Fight Benisseur
If you didn’t kill any of the Nevrons involved in side quests, you will receive 100 Colour of Lumina from Blanche in The Fountain.
If you killed Nevrons, Blanche will turn hostile. After defeating them, you will receive 10 Colour of Lumina and two Grandiose Chroma Catalysts. To get all the rewards, you can spare the Nevron, get the reward from Blanche, and fight Benisseur later.
