Crimson Desert has a stealing mechanic which can be useful in your gameplay. It, of course, allows you to be mischievous and unlocks one extra method of obtaining, otherwise, elusive and hard to obtain necessary essentials. However, there is something you must have before you can even begin to steal or pickpocket.

How to Steal And Pickpocket in Crimson Desert

Before you are able to steal and pickpocket, you have to get a mask. Once you have the mask, you can equip it and go steal to your heart’s content. To get a mask, you can do one of three things: looting it, get it from a quest (such as the Bounty Notice for Jeffery), or buy it from a Back Alley Shop. There is one in Hernand Town. Until you get one, stealing just won’t be an option.

To equip the mask, use the weapon wheel to equip it. When you want to seal, approach the item. The same goes when you want to pickpocket, but you just approach the person.

What Happens If You Steal?

Unfortunately, you won’t be rewarded for your crime spree. People are going to turn their noses down at you for stealing, and there are consequences. Provided you aren’t caught, you will get a reputation decrease the more you steal, so try not to do it frequently.

If you do happen to get caught stealing, the risk if greater. People will start searching for you and you’ll know by the red eye on the map. What you need to do is leave the area so the guards don’t find you. Should the guards find you, you need to fight or accept the fine.

It might just be easier to pay the fine! But to avoid this problem, do your best to not get caught while you are first stealing the item.
