Dying Light The Beast First Blood – How To Defeat The Mist Chimera

Mist Chimera is the main boss of the First Blood story mission in Dying Light the Beast. Kyle must track down and defeat this powerful enemy.

Dying Light the Beast Mist Chimera Encounter Guide

You will encounter the boss at the end of the First Blood story quest. Follow the objectives until you come face to face with the Chimera. Mist is a nimble creature that won’t stand still and wait for you to chip off its HP.

The boss excels at running, jumping, and dodging your attacks. It doesn’t have a large HP bar, however, it’s constantly on the move, which makes it harder for you to hit it.

Dying Light the Beast Mist Strategy

The Chimera summons zombies as minions during the fight. They are annoying, but helpful. Killing zombies fills your Beast gauge. Ignore the Chimera and focus on building your Beast power.

When the gauge is full, switch your attention to the Mist Chimera and hit it with some heavy damage. Return to killing zombies and repeat until the boss is down. However, you cannot simply ignore the boss, as you will need to deal with its attacks.

Spitting Attack

The Chimera spews poison in your direction. Move away to avoid it.

Jumping Attack

The Chimera jumps on a tree or on a minion and leaps towards you. Dodge to avoid it.

Try to keep an eye on the Chimera at all times, even when fighting zombies, to anticipate its attacks. When not engaging the boss directly, you can use C4 or Molotov Cocktails for extra damage. Use the bus as a hiding spot when you need to use healing items. When the boss is low on HP, an X button will appear. Press the button to trigger a gruesome killing scene and end the encounter.
