When you first discover a new location the map will seem a bit bare and, perhaps, even confusing. The only way to remedy this is to find the map that is related to the current location. One of these new maps is the Gravesite Plain.
This map, once found, will reveal more of the location, making navigating much easier as you continue to explore the Realm of Shadow.
How To Reach The Realm Of Shadow
You can begin searching for the map after having successfully defeated both the Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood. Who are two of the late bosses in the Elden Ring base game. Meaning you cannot begin the Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC until you have completed the base game first.
After having defeated those two bosses you will then want to speak with the NPC character, Leda. This will then allow you to travel over to the Realm Of Shadow. Where the Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC begins.
After arriving at the Realm Of Shadow your first location will be the dark and eerie environment of the Gravesite Plain. Making this the first map that can be found within the Erdtree DLC.
Navigating The Gravesite Plain And Find The Map
The Gravesite Plain is a rather large area full of grassland and eerie looking trees, structures, and of course, gravestones. At this point, the map, though accessible, will be rather plain and boring. However, what you want to do is continue heading to the north east. Towards a tall pillar.
You will know if you have successfully managed to find yourself going in the correct direction as you will find yourself on the main path. By a damaged stone wall will be our pillar. Interact with it to find the Gravesite Map.
