Hollow Knight Silksong

Hollow Knight Silksong will not only have you scratching your head, but will definitely make you lose your mind. A single mistimed jump, or poorly timed strike can shave off some of your health, and death will eventually follow. Compared to its predecessor, in Silksong death is not as brutal, but it still stings in its own way. So, what happens if you die in Hollow Knight Silksong? Let’s find out.

Hollow Knight Silksong What happens after death

After dying in Hollow Knight Silksong, a bunch of things can happen.

Outcomes Of Dying In Hollow Knight Silksong – Respawn

Of course, once your health runs out and you fall, you’ll respawn. The spot you return to depends on the last bench you rested at. Always try to look for benches and rest. That way, you won’t respawn too far from where you went down.

Items will drop if you die in Hollow Knight Silksong

Much like in the previous Hollow Knight, you will lose some of your items after dying in the game. While Shell Shards remain in your inventory after death, Rosaries do not. Rosaries in your inventory will disappear, and you’ll start again from zero. The good news is you can get them back by breaking the Silk Cocoon that shows up where you died. To prevent losing Rosaries in the first place, tie them with a Rosary String to keep them secured in your inventory.

A White Silk cocoon will appear if you die in Hollow Knight Silksong

A Silk Cocoon spawns at the location of your last death. It’s best to retrieve it quickly, especially if you were carrying many Rosaries. Breaking the cocoon restores your Silk gauge, letting you heal and use Silkspear, and returns the Rosaries you lost.

If you die in Hollow Knight Silksong you will leave behind a white cocoon

Make sure to reach your last cocoon before dying again. A new death will spawn a fresh cocoon and erase the old one, permanently destroying any items it contained.

A useful trick is to return to the main menu when you’re down to one health and about to die. Doing so reloads you at the last bench, fully rested with full health. What’s interesting is that this trick doesn’t wipe your progress, and you won’t lose any Rosaries either.

Death in Hollow Knight Silksong is somewhat similar to a typical Souls-like game. Replacing a cocoon with lost souls
