Once you’ve made your way to Sainte-Anne and spoken with Captain Spurlock, the Shipwright, and the Carpenter, you’ll be sent on a quest to craft tools and find Acacia. Luckily, it’s not too hard of a resource to find.
How to Get the Saw in Skull and Bones
To chop Acacia trees, you first need to have a Saw. The Carpenter can be found at the stall to the left of the Shipwright. To get him to Craft you a Saw, you need to give him one Metal Salvage and two Torn Sails, plus 20 coins.
If you collected items from the wreckage of the Exeter, then you should have enough to craft the Saw and the other two tools. However, if you didn’t loot the remains of the Exeter you’ll need to find another shipwreck to loot.
To do so, press “M” to open up your map and use the mouse wheel to zoom out. All around the island of Sainte-Anne are small purple symbols representing ships. Hovering the mouse over them labels them as either “Small Pirate Shipwrecks” or “Small Compagnie Shipwrecks”. Use the right mouse button to mark one of these and use the escape key to exit the map.
Now you can return to your ship and quickly sail towards the nearest shipwreck to gather loot. Once you have enough, return to the Carpenter in Sainte-Anne’s to craft the Saw.
Where to Find Acacia in Skull and Bones
In order to find Acacia, you’ll need to rely on your map. Press “M” to open it, then use the mouse wheel to zoom out.
There are a few important symbols on the map, but the only one that matters right now is the green tree with an image of stacked logs against it. Hovering your mouse over one of these tree symbols reveals that they are areas where Acacia can be discovered.
Use the right mouse button on one of the symbols to mark it on your map and press the escape key to return to the main screen. The Acacia deposit will now be marked on the compass at the top center of your screen.
Return to the dock at the entryway of Sainte-Anne. Press “F” to board your ship, then press “Set Sail” in the next screen to leave Sainte-Anne behind.
Sail ahead towards the marked Acacia trees on your map. Mine was to the left of Sainte-Anne’s, but yours may be on one of the islands a little further out. There will be a glowing beam of golden light to help guide your way.
How to Chop Acacia Wood in Skull and Bones
Once you’ve reached the marked deposit of Acacia wood, position your dhow close enough to begin the Saw’s mini-game.
In this game, you have three lives per round. A live is lost every time the cursor gets to the end of the saw or if the left-mouse button is pressed while the cursor is on a black space. Pressing the left mouse button on a yellow square three times will give you one Acacia wood. To get the most wood, you need to press the left mouse button while the cursor is on the green space. This will give you 1 or 2 Acacia wood every time it occurs.
The trees will reset rather quickly after being chopped down. If you need a lot of wood quickly, I recommend harvesting the same area continuously until you have enough. Just be cautious of your surroundings, as it is possible for nearby sea creatures or pirates to attack you while harvesting.
