How Warfare Works in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 (KCD2)
This is a general KCD2 skill. Unlike other skills that gain XP when you perform that particular action, you acquire Warfare XP when Henry engages in all forms of combat using various weapons. All combat-related actions, such as stamina cost when blocking and weapon prowess, depend on this skill.
Every time you get weapon XP, you also receive Warfare XP. To make this process more efficient, you should specialize in one weapon category. You can use any type of weapon you like, the important thing is to stick with it until you get a high skill level. It pays off to level up Warfare early on. From common bandits to story-related combat challenges, Henry doesn’t shy away from fights. Luckily, the game allows you to train this skill from the beginning to out-level your enemies.
How to Level Up Warfare In KCD2
To get XP, you need to take part in combat using melee or ranged weapons. KCD2 has training activities, so you can gain some nice XP without dying or spending Saviour Schnapps.
Archery Contests
Participating in archery contests is a great way to get Marksmanship and Warfare XP. The downside of this method is that you will need arrows. They are expensive to buy, but you should find plenty when looting bandits and chests.
The first archery arena you will come across is near Tachov. Follow the west road from the settlement towards Vidlak Pond. You don’t need to win the content to get XP. Henry acquires XP for each arrow that hits the mark. Should you win, you get a nice XP bonus. Other archery arenas in the Trosky region are found in Nebakov and near the castle. Once you unlock Kuttenberg, you can take part in the contest in the Devil’s Den.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Warfare – Melee Training
If you prefer melee weapons, you will be glad to know that you can start training as soon as you reach Troskowitz and unlock free roaming. Find Bara in the village and start the Combat Training side quest. Check the map and head to that location to discover the Nomads’ Camp and Master Tomcat.
Ask him to practice and he will gladly spar with you as much as you like. This is a great opportunity to get some weapons XP. Blocking gives more XP, so aim to perform as many blocks as you can. When you feel ready for a real fight, ask Tomcat to duel. Should you best him, you will learn his Master Strike technique. If you are using swords, focus on performing Master Strikes. They give more XP and deal better damage than a normal hit.
