There are 10 rare gadgets in the game. To unlock them all, you need to complete missions in the main story. The recommendation is to complete the story-driven adventures to have access to all the rare gadgets. After you have all of them, completing side tasks, such as combat-based Community Jobs, will be much easier. So, postpone all side tasks until you have completed the entire story.

Here are all the 10 gadgets and their uses.

Blast Boots – Perform a double jump and shoot fire from under you. This gadget is extremely useful when exploring, as it facilitates mountain climbing. The fire can also damage nearby enemies.

Hot Dog Cart – Call a hot dog cart to your aid. This gadget spawns bombs that deal damage in a random area.

Brick Separator – In addition to dealing substantial damage, this gadget also has a knockback effect.

Frost Wave – Use this gadget to apply the Frozen effect to enemies near you.

Rush Boots – Your character gains impressive speed.

Gravity Bomb – Creates a gravity well that pulls enemies in and explodes, harming them.

Shell-Walker Shield – Defend yourself from projectiles and charge attacks with the power of an energy shield.

Tripcaster – This gadget allows you to use eclectic traps.

Hunter’s Decoy – Summon a decoy that will attract the attention of nearby enemies.

Gadgets and Community Jobs

Several Community Jobs rely on the use of gadgets.

No Questions Asked – Destroy 15 machines with gadgets.

This is a level 5 job, meaning you will unlock it quite early. You can use the Hot Dog Cart or the Blast Boots to finish the job, or you can wait until you unlock more powerful gadgets.

Elemental Mastery – Destroy eight machines with elements.

Another level 5 job, the Elemental Mastery task, requires you to kill machines with elemental damage. Gadgets such as the Elemental Drone or Frost Wave come in handy.

Flaming Ninjas – Kill 15 enemies with Fire damage.

Put on the Dragons Rising Kai costume and deal Fire damage with a Fire weapon or a gadget.

Silent Storm – Kill 15 enemies with Shock damage.

Put on the Dragons Rising Jay costume and deal Shock damage with a Shock weapon or a gadget.

Stay Frosty – Kill 15 enemies with Frost damage.

Put on the Dragons Rising Zane costume and deal Frost damage with a Frost weapon or a gadget.

Of course, you can also use gadgets to complete any combat-based Community Job.
