LEGO Horizon Adventures Top Grade Trophy – How To Unlock Upgrades

Upgrades make your character stronger. They enable Aloy and the gang to level up faster and become powerful warriors. You can gain access to upgrades as soon as you complete Chapter 2.

The upgrades’ availability depends on the number of Gold Bricks you’ve obtained. If you want to unlock them faster, you should focus on completing Community Jobs and acquiring Gold Bricks. Keep checking the All-Mother Tree in the village from time to time to see what new upgrades you can buy. To purchase upgrades, you need to spend Studs. This is the basic in-game currency. Studs are obtained while exploring and completing missions.

Automatically Unlocked Upgrades

Weak Sauce – A 25%/50% XP boost when you remove weak points.

Free Lunch – Enemies under the elemental effect of Shock, Fire, or Ice have a 5/10/25% chance to drop healing berries.

Barrels of Peril – Damage from barrels is increased by 15%/30%/45%.

Slow Burn – Boosts the Fire debuff on enemies to 2/4/6 seconds.

Upgrades Unlocked at 7 Gold Bricks

Environmental Warrior – 25%/50%/75% XP boost when killing foes using the environment.

Power User – Boosts the efficiency of rare weapons and gadgets by 15%/30%/45%.

Upgrades Unlocked at 10 Gold Bricks

Rare Surprise – Begin with a random rare weapon.

Gadget Surprise – Begin with a random gadget.

Chill Out – Boosts the Frozen debuff on enemies to 2/4/6 seconds.

Upgrades Unlocked at 20 Gold Bricks

Gadgeteer – 25%/50%/75% XP boost when killing foes with rare weapons or gadgets.

Ninja Skills – 15%/30%/45% damage boost when taking cover in the tall grass.

Shocker – Boosts the Shocked debuff on enemies to 2/4/6 seconds.

Upgrades Unlocked at 30 Gold Bricks

Berry Good – 1/2/3 more berries from bushes.

Super Berries – Berries remove Ice, Fire, and Shock effects.

Upgrades Unlocked at 40 Gold Bricks

Zero Waste – You can use rare weapons and gadgets multiple times.

Gadgets A-Gogo – Boosts the chance to find rare weapons and gadgets by 5%/10%/15%.

How to Unlock the LEGO Horizon Adventures Top Grade Trophy

As you can see, there are 16 upgrades in total. To get the trophy, you need to obtain 10, meaning you don’t need to get them all. It is recommended to focus on the upgrades that boost your XP gain and unlock all three upgrade tiers. Gadget Surprise and Gadgeteer are other upgrades you should consider early on, as gadgets improve your killing abilities and put a fun spin to combat.
