If I Weren’t an Idol is a Like a Dragon Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii substory. It involves encountering a Distressed Young Man in pink with a bus ticket and an idol issue. Let’s see how you can unlock Idol Otaku: Gu-san, Idol Otaku: Broto-Op, and Idol Otaku: Mr. Six as crew members!
How to Start If I Weren’t an Idol
You can start this side quest after completing The Symbol of the City, the Street Surfer substory. Go to Downtown Honolulu and find the Distressed Young Man wearing a pink shirt. The substory begins automatically as you approach him. Get involved and find out why he is so gloomy.
The guy has a ticket for a bus tour with his idol, Ichigo-chan, but he is too nervous to go.
How to Complete If I Weren’t an Idol
Majima encourages him to get on the bus. Three options are available.
No matter what option you pick, the fan asks you to join the bus tour. It turns out that the guy had two tickets, but his date couldn’t make it. He then introduces himself as Gu-san. Majima agrees to accompany him. You can board the bus now or go later.
Board the Tour Bus
Shortly after Majima and Gu-san get on the bus, Ichigo Todo makes an appearance and hypes up the crowd. The first objective is the Anaconda Shopping Center. Next up, we have the Crystal Aloha Hotel. The party bus stops for lunch and everyone enjoys a meal designed by Ichigo.
As you are having tea, Majima gets the chance to know Broto-Op and Mr. Six. Now it’s your turn to say something about yourself.
You can choose any option. The next course arrives, but Majima is not impressed at all.
Visit the Anaconda Shopping Mall
The lunch break is over and the group heads to the Anaconda Shopping Mall. Ichigo informs everyone they have only two minutes.
You can only walk during this part. Majima must reach the elevators on the eastern side and get out of the mall within two minutes. Don’t worry if you cannot make it, as you can try again. Just head towards the objective and don’t get sidetracked. Mr. Six is not that lucky and he misses the bus.
The Show on the Beach
The next stop is the beach, where Ichigo performs Gu-san’s favorite song. After the show, Ichigo announces she is marrying her manager. The fans are heartbroken. Majima decides to talk to Ichigo.
It turns out that Ichigo is not a nice person at all. She and her manager are scamming the people who paid a lot of money to see her. Majima cuts in and fights the manager. After you defeat him, the final cutscene begins and the substory ends. You unlock Idol Otaku: Gu-san, Idol Otaku: Broto-op, and Idol Otaku: Mr. Six as crew members.
