You’ll come across the substory pretty early on when you meet Oka, who introduces you to his invention – the Street Surfer. By completing this substory, not only will you unlock Oka as a member but you’ll also unlock the ability to summon a Street Surfer, which can grant you a faster way to navigate the city. Unlocking the Symbol of the City, the Street Surfer Substory
The Symbol of the City, the Street Surfer substory unlocks automatically during Chapter 2 of the main story. When you reach the second chapter, show Julie and Clarke the Goromaru before going to the beach. As you head north of the beach area, you’ll meet a man named Oka. He’ll tell you about the Street Surfer, his latest invention. Noah eagerly wants to try it, but Majima is skeptical, so Oka offers to let him try it out first.
Ride the Street Surfer Beat Up Some Thugs
Your next objective is to ride the vehicle around for a little while. Simply head down the street and once you’re done, a cutscene between you and Oka will trigger. This involves Noah riding and bumping into two men. Angry, these men begin to threaten Noah and Majima has no choice but to step in.
Beat Up Some Thugs
Fight the two thugs, Martin and Bell. During the fight, you can switch between strong and weak attacks while also grabbing the thugs. Whenever they attack, you can guard or use quickstep. Overall, they’re pretty easy to beat. Afterward, Oka, feeling guilty about the incident, offers you a free Surfer ride for us to use.
We now have a faster and easier way to navigate the streets. Simply use the corresponding button to summon the vehicle. You can then choose to either navigate it manually or automatically. To ride it automatically simply select a destination on the map.
