Metaphor ReFantazio Zorba And Homo Avades are two challenging bosses that you need to defeat in order to prevent the Day of Calamity. This is a two-phase encounter that starts with Zorba and continues with Homo Avades after Zorba’s defeat.
Metaphor ReFantazio Zorba And Homo Avades – Phase 1: Zorba
Zorba is a level 19 enemy. He uses Dark and Electric attacks. No other magic other than Light can damage him. The suggested party composition for this fight is Healer, Seeker, and Warrior. You can also take Brawler instead of a Warrior. If one chooses.
How to Defeat Zorba
Zorba’s opening move is Corpse Puppetry which calls on a Corpsethrall as his minion. Zorba’s minions are vulnerable to Fire and Light. He will use this ability two times, so you can use the first two turns for party buffs. His minions do bash damage. Their attack is powered by Zorba’s Madness Curse which buffs them with Fury. You can take advantage of Hulkenberg‘s resistance to bash damage and let her take the heat.
Zorba’s Mudon and Kanera deal Dark and Electric damage to one enemy. He seems to prefer Mudon to Kanera and that’s a good thing, as he can do massive damage to Knights vulnerable to Electric damage. The Bondage Curse is another spell in Zorba’s arsenal. This attack puts Bind on a party member leaving them incapacitated for a few turns.
Focus your attacks on Zorba, as he is the main enemy. Buff your stats and don’t use any magic attacks on him. Zorba’s final move is to summon Homo Avades.
Metaphor ReFantazio Zorba And Homo Avades – Phase 2: Homo Avades
Now, the true challenge begins. Homo Avades is a level 22 boss. Throughout the fight, you will take on his shell, heart, and hands. The shell is weak to Strike damage. The hands are weak to Pierce and Fire damage.
How to Defeat Homo Avades
Homo Avades opens the fight with Hamon, a Light attacks. Healers have no trouble with it. The rest of the party is neutral. If you have a Brawler, make sure to keep their HP topped.
The boss starts using Ambush Assault after his heart takes damage. For one turn, he summons soldiers dealing considerable damage. Then, he will use Shell Regeneration to put his shell back on. Now, you need to take care of his hands. You should inherit the Mage’s Agi to quickly defeat the hands. If you manage to damage his heart to low HP, the boss uses Sour Scream, an ability that gives him four more turns. Another attack is Mahama which deals Light area of effect damage.
The strategy is to have a Brawler attack the shell until it drops. After the shell is off, do as much damage as you can to the heart. Once the shell is back up, focus the hands. Use this rotation until you take him down.
