In this guide, we’re covering STALKER 2 Heart of Chornobyl All Choices and Consequences. There are a total of 11 choices that have minor to major effects on the game. Only the last three affect the ending. Read on to learn about each choice and their consequences.
Choice 1 – Help or Kill Squint In STALKER 2 Heart Of Chornobyl
In the A Needle in a Haystack main mission, you have the choice to help or kill Squint. Helping him unlocks the Piece of Cake side mission, where you’ll obtain the Ward Sensors and Mold Artifact. If you kill Squint, you’ll get the Ward Sensors immediately at the cost of Squint’s life.
Choice 2 – Shoot or Knock Soldier Out In STALKER 2
Another section that allows for player choices and consequences in STALKER 2 Heart Of Chornobyl is in the Behind Seven Seals main quest. Here you come across a soldier and you have two choices, to kill or knock him out. If you kill him, he will not appear to help you in The Hornets Nest main mission and his ghost appears in one of the endings. If you knock him out, he helps you disable the psi-emitter in The Hornet’s Nest Mission.
Choice 3 – Give Ward Sensors to Richter or Zotov
Giving the Ward Sensors to Richter prevents the Wardens from cracking down on the Stalkers in Zalissya. If you give it to Captain Zotov, you align yourself with the Ward faction.
Choice 4 – Help Ninth or Dew
During the Lost Boys side mission, you have the option to Help Ninth or Dew. By choosing the option “I want to help you”, Dew and his gang will attack you and Ninth. You’re rewarded with a Rubber Layer Blueprint after defeating Dew. If you choose “[Attack] You deserve to die” dialogue option this will, then, result in Ninth attacking you. Whilst Dew and his gang won’t interfere.
Choice 5 – Give Religious Icon to Pomor or Mityay
During The Poppy Field mission, you have to choose who to give the religious icon to. If you give it to Mityay, you’ll get 1,000 Coupons, and the icon is displayed on his family grave. If you give it to Pomor, you’ll get the Unknown Stalker’s AR416.
Consequences Choice 6 – Kill or Spare Pomor
This choice also appears in The Poppy Field mission. If you choose to kill him before trading the religious icon for the Unknown Stalker’s AR416 then you will no longer be able to do this.
Consequences Choice 7 – Choosing a Gloomy Reward
During the Dangerous Visitors mission, you get to choose a reward. You can choose the Echo Detector, but then Gloomy won’t tell you about a stash in the Magnetic cave. If you choose “I have a detector” or “Got anything else?” then he will keep the Echo Detector and tell you about the stash.
Consequences Choice 8 – Show or Not Show Unusual PDA
During the Back to Slag Heap main mission, you can choose to show the unusual PDA. If you show it, Korshunov will give you a Ward Badge and AKM-74S. However, if you decide not to show it then you’ll get no rewards but Scar and the Spark won’t be hostile when you see them again.
Consequences Choice 9 – Eternal Spring or Life is For the Living
This choice is one of the major ones that affect the end of the game. If you choose “Eternal Spring”, you’ll get the Spark or Ward ending and be locked out of the Strelok and Kaimanov Endings. If you choose “Life is for the living” then you’ll be locked out of the Spark ending but still have the option to get the others.
Consequences Choice 10 – I’m Not Your Enemy or Escape
This is the second major choice that can alter the endings of the game. If you pick “I am not your enemy,” then you will get the Ward ending. It will lock you out of all the others. If you choose to escape, you’ll be locked out of the Ward ending.
Consequences Choice 11 – Lower the Gun or Fire
This is the third major choice that affects the end of the game. If you lower the gun, you’re locked into the Kaimanov ending and locked out of Strelok’s ending. If you choose to fire, then this is revered and you’re locked into Strelok’s ending.
