Slay the Spire 2 Colossal Flower Event guide

Slay the Spire 2

Colossal Flower is one of the many events in Slay the Spire 2. Like other events, it makes you lose or gain HP health or gold in exchange for something. Like Cursed Pearl, the Colossal Flower event allows you to gain gold, and depending on how much you’re willing to risk, you can earn more.

Here’s what happens during the Slay the Spire 2 Colossal Flower event.

Slay the Spire 2 Colossal Flower – Extract Nectar or Reach Deeper?

In the STS 2 Colossal Flower event, you will have to choose between Extract Nectar and Reach Deeper.

  • Extract Nectar: Gain 35 Gold
  • Reach Enter: Enter Deeper: Lose 5 HP health

Picking Extract Nectar gives you gold upfront. On the flip side, selecting Reach Deeper lets you “enter deeper” at the cost of 5 HP.

If you haven’t encountered this event yet, or haven’t explored deeper, picking this option results in a gold increase. From 35, it goes up to 75, then 135 gold. However, each time you pick this option, you lose health. As you go deeper, the HP cost increases by 1 each time.

You can only go deeper up to two times, and by the end of it, you’ll find Extract Nectar and Enter the Center.

  • Extract Nectar: Gain 135 Gold.
  • Enter the Center: Lose 7 HP. Obtain Pollinous Core.

This is the last stage of the event, where you can gain the highest amount of gold. The second option also gets replaced with Enter the Center. By picking the latter, you once again lose 7 HP but gain a new relic called Pollinous Core.

  • Pollinous Core: Every 4 turns, draw additional cards.

If you manage to reach the deepest level, you can either take 135 gold at the cost of 11 HP, or pick Pollinous Core and lose 18 HP.

In this event, there are different routes you can take depending on what you need and whether you can or are willing to lose HP.

Overall, you can lose 5 HP, 11 HP, or 18 HP, which is a lot and may put you at a disadvantage, especially when fighting elites. However, picking Extract Nectar for 135 gold or going for Pollinous Core is a high-risk, high-reward play. The gold you gain can be used to purchase a new relic, card, or potion from the merchant. Meanwhile, Pollinous Core can be useful in many builds, as it allows you to draw two additional cards every 4 turns, potentially giving you access to your win condition.
