Titan Quest 2 Hippokampos – How To Defeat The Devourer Of The Lost

Titan Quest II

Titan Quest 2 Hippokampos is an optional, but challenging boss. You will come face to face with the Devourer of the Lost during the last stage of The Stone Poet world quest. Let’s see what you must do to defeat the mighty beast!

Titan Quest 2 Hippokampos Fight Strategy

Titan Quest 2 Hippokampos Whirlwind

The fight begins with a pack of crab enemies. Use AOE attacks to quickly deal with them. The boss enters the fray once all the crabs are dead. The Hippokampos is a worthy opponent, so it wouldn’t hurt to outlevel it. The recommendation is to be level 18, but with the right build, you can take him down at lower levels. The Whirlwind build works best for this fight. The boss uses a few patterns and combos. Learning how to deal with these attacks makes the fight considerably easier.

Hippokampos Attack Patterns

Titan Quest 2 Hippokampos Geyser

The Hippokampos uses the following attacks:

  • Geyser. The boss marks a location from which water sprouts immediately after. Avoid the area.
  • Water Stream. The boss fires a water beam at you. Move as the boss spins.
  • Electric Beam Combo. After the Water Stream, the boss shoots an electric beam at you. If you see it charging as the Water Stream ends, that’s the cue for this combo.
  • Leap and Slam. The Hippokampos leaps and slams the ground, creating two or more AOE shock waves. Dodge the blast.
  • Projectiles Attack. The boss sends projectiles towards you. Move out of their way.
Titan Quest 2 Hippokampos Beam

The boss gains an electric barrier. Use burst attacks to quickly deplete it. Dodging and avoiding damage is your priority during this fight. There are several ways to do this, depending on your build. If you have the Leap Slam ability, you can use it to jump over the wave attacks. Barrier skills allow you to mitigate damage. You can also dodge and roll under the boss to get behind him to avoid frontal attacks. The Hippokampos is a tough enemy, but he drops good loot and 6000 XP, so your efforts are handsomely rewarded.
