This page will be mainly focusing on the various companion character dialogue that occurs during the Astarion Dreams Of Cazador 2 scene
The dialogue will include everything that is presented as a dialogue option, this also includes dialogue that occurs when you fail and win a die/dice roll too.
The page is currently done with only the Early Access currently being available, thus everything is subject to change. I will however, change this page to properly match the dialogue scene when the full version is released. For now enjoy what is said during the particular Early Access patch.
Anyway let us begin!
(NOTE: This was all taken from the Early Access phase of the game)

- HOW TO UNLOCK:
ASTARION DREAMS OF CAZADOR (FOREST DREAM)
(This scene is taken from a Modded version of the Early Access game)
ASTARION HAS NIGHTMARES OF CAZADOR 2
(To my knowledge, this scene was first introduced during Early Access Patch 3)
- Astarion Dreams of Cazador, whilst laying restlessly on the floor
- ASTARION: Nhh… Master… Please…
- ASTARION: No! Back! (Quickly gets up off the floor, looking terrified)
- (OPTION 1 A) PLAYER CHARACTER: Relax – you’re safe here
- (REPLY 1 A) ASTARION: Safe? No where is safe! I can’t even close my eyes without.. Without seeing him, Cazador
- (OPTION 2 A) PLAYER CHARACTER: It’s me. You’re just having a bad dream.
- (REPLY 2 A) ASTARION: Just a bad dream? It was him, Cazador. It’s always him
- (OPTION 3 A) PLAYER CHARACTER: You were expecting your master? Sorry to disappoint you
- (REPLY 3 A) ASTARION: You’re sorry, but you never get any less disappointing.
- ASTARION: And yes, I saw him. Cazador. He was reading poetry. How does that compare to your dream?
- (OPTION 1 B) PLAYER CHARACTER: And who is ‘Cazador’? exactly?
- (REPLY 1 B) ASTARION: A vampire lord. And my old master. The one I escaped when the mind flayers took me. He’s been hunting me ever since. I hope your dreams were a little more titillating?
- (OPTION 1 C) PLAYER CHARACTER: Not quite as cultured – I met a beautiful man
- (REPLY 1 C) ASTARION: Well at least my vision was based in reality. Cazador was actually a poet. He used to carve his verses into our flesh. Said he’d turn us into art. He once spent all night with a razor, drafting and redrafting a sonnet on my back. Apparently the more I screamed, the more mistakes he made. And the more editing was required.
- (OPTION 1 D) PLAYER CHARACTER: I’m sorry. I didn’t know.
- (REPLY 1 D) ASTARION: Now you know. And maybe you’ll know to leave me alone the next time I wake up screaming.
- (OPTION 2 D) PLAYER CHARACTER: Was it a good poem, at least?
- (REPLY 2 D) ASTARION: Do you know, I don’t recall. I wasn’t taking notes. And naturally, I’ve never read it. It is on my back and mirrors aren’t exactly helpful
- (OPTION 3 D) PLAYER CHARACTER: Take off your shirt. I want to see it
- (REPLY 3 D) ASTARION: I – what? No! For your sake, I hope it’s the tadpole messing with your mind. Ridiculous.
- (OPTION 1 E) PLAYER CHARACTER: Show me. I’ll read it
- (REPLY 1 E) ASTARION: I – what? No! For your sake, I hope it’s the tadpole messing with your mind. Ridiculous.
- (OPTION 2 E) PLAYER CHARACTER: Aren’t you curious?
- (REPLY 2 E) ASTARION: I can do without reliving that particular night, thank you
- (OPTION 1 F) PLAYER CHARACTER: ‘Shrugs and leaves’
- (REPLY 1 F) ASTARION: Well then, goodnight
- (OPTION 2 C) PLAYER CHARACTER: The mighty vampire reading poetry? Hilarious
- (REPLY 2 C) ASTARION: I thought you’d get a kick out of it. Funny thing is, Cazador was a prolific poet. He used to carve his verses into our flesh. Nice and deep. He once spent all night with a razor, etching a sonnet into my back. As you said – hilarious.
- (OPTION 3 C) PLAYER CHARACTER: You’ve been dreaming of Cazador? You said your other dream was ‘enticing’
- (REPLY 3 C) ASTARION: Yes darling, that’s what we call a lie. I wasn’t about to tell some stranger what was lurking in my mind. But you’re no stranger now. Just strange. So tell me what do you make of my dream?
- (OPTION 1 G) PLAYER CHARACTER: Seems rather banal, honestly.
- (REPLY 1 G) ASTARION: I wouldn’t be so sure. My master was a prolific poet. He used to carve his verses into our flesh. Said he’d turn us into art. He once spent all night with a razor, drafting and redrafting a sonnet on my back. Apparently the more I screamed, the more mistakes he made. And the more editing was required.
COMPANION REPLIES
- GALE: Those nightmarish visions of yours, Astarion, they aren’t dreams – they’re projections. Illithid ones. The tadpoles give us the power to bend others’ wills, but using that power clearly comes at a price. Are we willing to pay it?
- ASTARION: And? I suppose you want to stop using that power?
- GALE: Yes. The power to bend wills is a mind flayer speciality. We’re the ones who are truly at risk.
- ASTARION: Don’t be ridiculous. The power to twist a mind to your will is worth some nightmares.
- PLAYER CHARACTER: It isn’t worth it, whatever power it brings.
- ASTARION: You’re leaving us weak because you’re afraid of dreams? I’m willing to do whatever it takes to survive. A pity I’m the only one.
- LAE’ZEL: Such a touching scene – I almost hate to interrupt it. But you were not the only ones to dream this night. Has it escaped you that exploiting the tadpole conjures these visions for us all?
- ASTARION: And? I suppose you want to stop using that power?
- LAE’ZEL: Astarion speaks no sense. Whatever the parasite offers, deny it.
- ASTARION: Don’t be ridiculous. The power to twist a mind to your will is worth some nightmares.
- PLAYER CHARACTER: The tadpole gives us an edge – we can’t be afraid to use it
- ASTARION: Exactly. We need every advantage we can get.
