Although to be fair when the first Cyberpunk 2077 trailer emerged and the game was first announced, I in truth did not care for it.
The game at that point just seemed like another simple Shooting title, which I personally have seen enough of. No offence to any Call of Duty, Overwatch or Fortnite fans but titles like those bore me to tears and just like the amount of content creators such as myself, there is too many of them (yes I said it) out there and well for me personally I enjoy a bit of variety.
However, several years later (this year, 2020 to be exact) I found myself getting bored and ended up just randomly watching some Cyberpunk 2077 trailer and gameplay demo online streams, including various Night City series streams too. Watching those made me realise just how wrong I was about the game.
Cyberpunk 2077 (granted the game is yet to be released at the time of writing this) however, the game didn’t seem like a generic shooting title. In fact there is way more to it than I first expected and I’m glad I took the time to look into it more.
The game has a mix of RPG, Shooter, Stealth and the feature I am looking forward too (though that may end up being a mistake, god forbid ha!) anyway that feature is the dialogue choice options. I like games that can differ from a generic playthrough of the game. Games that give you a choice which in turn can effect major outcomes of the game is great, though as I have already said that may prove to be a mistake to look forward to depending on how my personal choices pan out ha! Still it is a feature I love regardless of how sour the choices may turn out to be, it also makes the game somewhat different and stand out more as well as giving it a more replayability factor too.
Whilst I’m still on the subject I’ll admit it wasn’t just the dialogue options that got my interest peeked. It was also the character of Jackie too, after coming off from having 100% Dragon Age Inquisition recently I was looking forward to having another companion to roll about with but obviously in a different game. Jackie seemed to be that companion after seeing various gameplay footage.
I’ll admit I may of since took the game a bit differently as it turns out that Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t exactly a companion style game like Dragon Age. However, my love for Jackie has not faded one bit neither has my overall interest for the game.
It is still different from the typical shooting titles that I’m personally sick and tired of. As someone who posts video game news articles, I can assure you that the majority that I find myself writing about are in fact shooting titles. In fact there is so many of them that I now use it as an excuse to help support myself in terms of being the billionth content creator out there ha! There is no difference really, as long as it works and you too are having fun with it, I say this as I was put off in my life seeing and knowing just how many content creators like me are actually out there.
Anyway enough about the game, lets talk about this amazing Cyberpunk 2077 computer chair from the company at Secretlab.
I’ll admit I’m not someone who goes around purchasing chairs, in fact this is my first one that I have ever bought for myself, I don’t usually purchase gaming chairs neither, again another first.
However, I remember stumbling across this chair and knew that my now old one had issues involving holes and an uncomfortable rear end thanks to a spring within the chair too. So a new chair was a necessary purchase.
Now I don’t remember where I found out about this chair, possibly Reddit as I frequent there quite a bit. I do remember being in love with the design though and the rather scary but cool looking demonic face on the back of the chair.
So I hunted the chair down and though it was quite pricey at £379 I thought I would purchase it regardless, as I needed a new chair and was totally ready for Cyberpunk 2077
In fact the fancy Cyberpunk 2077 chair is not the only big spend relating to the title that we have made prior to the game release, as we also managed to fork out £249.99 on the collector’s edition too. That is a total of £682.99 spent on Cyberpunk 2077, yes my body is ready ha!
Anyway I also think I was really lucky to of grabbed myself one of these chairs now too, as the following day (would of only of been roughly 9-10 hours after actually purchasing the chair, maybe even less) I then logged onto the Secret Lab website to only find out that the chair had completely sold out. I’m not sure if I lucked out and got the final one or something but I still regard myself as being lucky with this purchase. So sorry for anyone who missed out, or am I sorry? Hmm.. in truth the company did mention that they are planning to sell the chairs once again come this November, miss out then though and that may be it.
Moving on, after successfully taking what seemed like a good half of an hour we finally managed to finish setting the chair up. The chair thankfully came with instructions (which is obvious) but these instructions where rather big and perhaps unnecessarily so too, printed on a large piece of card instead of the usual paper, this came as a shock, a happy shock though as those instructions where needed.
Overall the chair managed to come with everything that was required for a simple and easy set up, it even came with a fancy little tool kit which included any necessary screws. No other tools where needed.
- KIT INCLUDES:
- Allen Key x1
- M18 Screws & Washers x4
- Reversible Phillips & Hex Screw Bit x1
- Magnetic Screwdriver Handle x1
- XL Casters (Wheels) x5
- Side Covers x2
- Lever Handles (For Multi-Tilt Only) x2
- Hydraulic Piston & Hydraulic Sleeve x1
Once the chair was officially up and running, we decided to test it out. The chair can be adjusted both up and down, the chair arms are also adjustable too. The chair also came with some lovely and comfortable pillows for both the head and the back, which is great as my old chair was actually giving me backache, so this helps with that issue.
The chair is quite comfortable, made of leather which may be a bad thing if you have pets around. Which at present (at least) we don’t, but after past experience with a leather sofa it may be wise to be careful here especially with how expensive and how limited this specific chair actually is. ‘Shudders’
I’ll admit though despite the name ‘Gaming Chair’ as some may say, there is no real difference between this chair and any normal ordinary chair. You are merely spending money on the whole brand which in this case is of course Cyberpunk 2077, you are just as well off with a normal Office chair otherwise.
I don’t regret my purchase in any way and it definitely beats sitting on a spring. Overall if you are getting that Cyberpunk 2077 itch then hopefully this chair can scratch it for you
Cyberpunk 2077 is currently in development by the team at CD Projekt Red for the Playstation 4, PC, XBox One, Stadia, Playstation 5 and XBox Series X/S. The game is set to release this November 19th for current-gen platforms and PC.
