Whilst exploring the Spring Meadows in Clair Obscur Expedition 33 you end up encountering a Nevron that can speak. This is actually part of the story and, encountering it, is part of the story progression. That cannot be missed. Gustave is a little put off by the whole thing while Lune is fascinated, rightly so. This leads to the optional quest of Jar’s Light. Where we need to, of course, find a light source.

Finding Jar’s Light in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

On the way to the Indigo Tree to see if there are any survivors, you’ll see some handholds. Climb up them to a cave and go inside where you will see and encounter Jar. The weird thing is he can talk, which isn’t supposed to happen. He asks Gustave and Lune to bring him light.
Something flammable will work.

Go towards the blue light– don’t worry you won’t die. It’s not that kind of light. Turn right and follow the winding path. You’ll reach a ledge where you can grab a pictos.
Drop down to the bridge below, continuing downhill. At the end of it, you’ll see a purple light which is the light Jar needs. It hides amongst various crates just beyond the bridge. There will be a few magical based enemies here, a new type of enemy that we can encounter. Anyway after interacting with the purple item, which will end up being a Resin we can report back to Jar.
Bring the Light to Jar

Now you have the resin, which is the light we need, bring it back to Jar and shoot the top of the weapon he is holding. You will need to aim at the top of its large staff in order to light it up. Speak to him again and you get a healing tint. This improves healing items, which is always a valuable thing to have.
Fight or Not to Fight, That is the Question
One might think this quest is over, but not exactly. Technically the quest is but then Jar asks for more light. You can peace out and leave or, alternatively, attack him. This is optional but it does reward us with additional rewards. Should you decide to attack him, you will receive 3 color of Lumina and 1 Chroma Catalyst.
The fight can be difficult if your approaching this at the beginning of the game given your characters haven’t levelled up a lot. Jar attacks first and it’s a deadly four hit combo. Attempt to doge, though the first and last hits are some of the more difficult ones to evade.
Elemental damage will help. For example, use Lune’s ice attacks. The more charged it is, the better damage it will do. Again, you can always walk away and attempt this at another time.
