The affinity stat measures your relationship level with a character. Affinity milestones unlock new weapons. However, Jagwiga and Lavinia make an exception. They do not offer any weapons as rewards.
How to Increase Partner Bond
The three methods to increase affinity are:
- Complete partner requests.
- Explore with a partner by your side.
- Give gifts.
Partner Requests
Partner requests are optional side quests that reward Code Vein 2 Affinity towards a partner. These requests become available after completing certain main story quests and the Timeline Shift Decision missions. Regularly talk to your partners. The “Catch up” option signifies that they have a request from you. Complete the four Timeline Shift Decision quests with Noah, Holly, Josee, and Lyle to unlock their requests and secure the secret Code Vein 2 ending.
Map Exploration
The more time you spend with a partner, the deeper your bond will grow. Have a partner by your side when you explore new areas and fight enemies. Requests will earn you limited affinity, so this is a quick way to earn more.
Give Gifts to Your Partners
This is a farming method, as it allows you to give multiple gifts to quickly earn affinity and Trading Points. However, it seems there’s a cap on how much Code Vein 2 Affinity you can obtain through gifts. That cap may be achieved around 2-300 Trading Points. Gifts (valuable items) give you a fixed number of Trading Points, based on the partner’s opinion about the gift:
- Dislike – 1 Trading Point.
- Neutral – 2 Trading Points.
- Like – 3 Trading Points.
- Love – 7 Trading Points.
Partners will also accept food as gifts. Boiled Eggs are a quick and easy way to raise the affinity level.
Jadwiga’s Minion in the Refugee Village has an endless supply of eggs. Buy eggs and synthesize Boiled Eggs, which can be offered as gifts.
How to Unlock the Code Vein 2 Irreplaceable Trophy
Affinity is a hidden stat, meaning you cannot check how much affinity you have achieved with a certain partner. Checking the partner’s shop for new rewards is the only way to get an idea of your affinity level with that character. If you want to unlock the Code Vein 2 Irreplaceable trophy, the best thing you can do is to focus on a single partner as your exploration buddy. Choose Lou or Noah, as these characters are available from the start.
Complete optional content, explore areas in search of chests, and fight enemies with your partner to raise their affinity. Give them the valuable items they love and be prepared to cook many Boiled Eggs. Affinity levels seem to carry over when starting a New Game+. If you didn’t get the trophy, continue the adventure with the same partner in NG+ to further increase your bond.
