Dune Awakening Spice is among the most valuable materials. Many end-game items, such as equipment and weapons, use spice. Let’s see what you must do to get spice!
Dune Awakening Spice Farming
Spice is an essential material, but harvesting it is a dangerous affair. That’s because there’s a direct connection between spice and the most threatening form of Arrakkis wildlife, the Sandworm. Spice is extracted from Spice Sand. To harvest Spice Sand, you first need to identify a Spice Bloom. These appear as purple patches in the desert.
You can get spice manually or with the use of a compactor tool. Harvesting spice manually is not recommended. Although this is a safe method, it doesn’t produce much of the valuable ingredient. That’s why the compactor tool is the way to go. Keep in mind that this item will agitate the Sandworms.
Solo Farming
You can get the schematic for the Compact Compactor Mk4 from the Imperial Research Station No. 71 in O’odham. The next step is to find a Spice Bloom. Scout with the Ornithopter or the Binoculars to spot one. Check out the Sandworm route. Ideally, it should be at least 1000 meters. Get close to the Spice Bloom and use the tool on the purple sand. The harvesting tool will produce Spice Sand which you can collect. If the Sandworm gets too close, run away. A Thumper is a device that gets the Sandworm’s attention, so you have more time to get spice.
Multiplayer Extraction Operations
If you are playing with a group, you can and should use a Sandcrawler, a farming machine. The machine attracts Sandworms, so you need designated players using Thumper to distract the creatures. The Deep Desert has large Spice Blooms that allow you to gather large quantities. This is the most efficient method to get spice, but it is dangerous, as you will get troubles not only from the Sandworms, but also from other players. The Spice Residue and Spice Melange are the crafting materials obtained from Spice Sand. The Spice Refinery refines the sand into these items. You can also find them in CHOAM Mining Facilities, but harvesting remains the best method to get spice in abundance.
