How to Collect Death Stranding 2 Chiral Crystals
There are several ways to acquire these items:
- Pick them up from the environment.
- Take a shower.
- Harvest from settlement storage units.
- As a reward for defeating BTs.
Collect From the Environment
These materials can appear everywhere on the map, but they have a higher chance of spawning in the areas under the effect of Timefall. To gather them, you simply have to get close to a crystal cluster and use the collect button. Make sure to scan the nearby area to highlight the clusters. As soon as you collect them, a notification will inform you how many you have acquired. It’s worth picking them up, so keep an eye out whenever you are exploring or doing a mission.
Take a Shower
Sam’s Private Room has a shower facility. As you explore, the crystals get into your system. Taking a nice refreshing shower will get them out. The notification will alert you each time you get crystals after showering. You get fewer crystals this way than by picking them up from the environment, but this is a nice passive method that doesn’t require any effort.
Harvest From Settlements
Settlements have a storage unit for materials. Interact with the terminal, choose the “Fabricate Materials” option, and claim the materials. Among them, you might find several crystals.
Rewards
Defeating BTs is a dangerous activity, but the rewards make it worthwhile. After you get rid of these creatures, you get some crystals for your troubles. Keep in mind that large BTs drop more crystals than small ones.
How to use Death Stranding 2 Chiral Crystals
These items have no carry weight, so they do not add to your load. For every 1000cg, your carry load is reduced by 1kg. Your overall cargo impacts movement and speed, so collecting these materials is one way of making yourself lighter and more stable. They are also used for crafting, repairing, and upgrading.
