EASY CARD PUZZLES

THREE-CARD STUD

  • REWARD: Fleetwing (Card 023)
  • CARDS: Zu, Fleetwing, Quetzalcoatl

Start by moving Fleetwing over to the bottom right. Giving us 3 points for the bottom row. Zu can then be placed on the top left, scoring 2 points. Dealing more than the opposition who only has a single point. Whilst the Quetzalcoatl can be positioned in the middle section. Our end score is Cloud 5 – 4 Card Puzzle

GO FOR CHOCO-BROKE

  • REWARD: Posh Chocobo (Card 109)
  • CARDS: Chocobo & Moogle, Fat Chocobo, Posh Chocobo
The Choco-Broke Card Carnival match in Costa Del Sol

CHOCOBO CARD BATTLE!

For this one the Fat Chocobo is positioned on the bottom left, with the Posh Chocobo next to it. Earning us a score of 11, beating the opponent’s score of 9. The Chocobo & Moogle remaining card can also be positioned down here too. Adding to a total of 14. As this 14 is higher than the opponent’s total of 9, we claim their counters. As they do if their row scores more than ours.

So, for example as we positioned all of our cards on the bottom row their 9 beats our 0, so 9 gets added to their total pot. Their 7 defeats our 1 for the middle row giving them a total of 16. However, the more interesting fact is that all of our cards took advantage of the +2 bonus to their totals. So take the Posh Chocobo for example, it started of at 2 by placing it on a +2 grid generates and gives it a +4.

How to win the Posh Chocobo card in Card Carnival
Posh Chocobo card reads ‘When you win the lane, receive a score bonus of 3)

SUCH A POSH CHOCOBO!

As a card lands on a +2 bonus square we are also given additional blue counters. Which then adds to our total score at the end of the game. Another example is the Chocobo & Moogle card which starts of at a base number being 1. When it lands on a +2 bonus title it then goes to +3, which also gives us 3 additional counters. Whereas the Fat Chocobo gives us 7 counters. All of which totals to our end score.

Meaning we need to take priority of those bonus titles during all our games of cards, as it adds increased totals to our end score. To continue as we placed all our cards on to the single row and thus won the entire lane, having the Posh Chocobo also means we get an additional 3 counter bonus. Hence our final score being 17

MISCHIEF MAKING MOOGLES

  • REWARD: Moogle Trio (Card 110)
  • CARDS: Moogle Trio, Grasslands Wolf, Fleetwing

For the Mischief-Making Moogles card match, which coincidentally enough, is the final match for the Easy Card Puzzles we will be given the Moogle Trio, Grasslands Wolf and Fleetwing cards to use. The former of which is our key card and one that we can win.

The Moogle Trio card, when played, adds both the Moogle Mage and Moogle Bard into the playing field. So, technically speaking we have a total of 5 cards to use during this specific match. Though keep in mind that the Moogle Trio can only be placed on a 2-icon location, so use your other cards first.

Once you have placed the Moogle Trio you can then take advantage of the other two Moogles. The Moogle Mage has the ability to lower the power of enemy cards on affected tiles by 4. Whilst the Moogle Bard can raise the power of allied cards on affected tiles by 2 whilst the card is still in play.

Lowering and raising these cards by using the Bard and Mage impacts the score needed to win the match.

SPEARS AND NEEDLES

  • REWARD: Spearhawk (Card 031)
  • CARDS: Cactuar, Spearhawk x2, Quetzacoatl

For the Spears and Needles match we will have 4 cards that we can use and it will be the start of the Advanced Card Puzzles.

Two of these cards can give you a good boost and increase your end score. This includes the Cactuar, which has the ability to raise the power of allied cards on affected tiles by 3, whilst the card is in play. The other is the Spearhawk which is similar to the Cactuar, with the exception of the tiles being a 2 instead of 3. The Quetzacoatl is the only card with no abilities.

SEA DEVIL BY NIGHT

  • REWARD: Sea Devil (Card 032)
  • CARDS: Security Officer, Mandragora x2, Sea Devil x2

The cards this time around is the Security Officer, which is a rather basic card that is generally used to increase the titles and make way for the others. The Mandragora has the ability to summon its minions once used, further increasing our card count. Whilst the Sea Devil can raise the power of allied cards by a total of 1.

Placing the Security Officer on the middle bottom will destroy it but it also increases the titles for the other cards. It is basically what is is used for. Because the other cards are used to give the remaining cards boosts. But require 2-3 tiled spots. An alternative method is to use a Mandragora and unleash its minions but this does not increase the titles and we need to create a 3-tiled for the Sea Devil.

The Mandragora Minion helps boost both the Sea Devil cards

By placing the two Sea Devils next we can use the Mandragora and its minions to boost them. Placing anything on the cursed title will destroy it as each card only has the 1 single score, as indicated on the top right of the card. The cursed tiles decreases any card placed on it by 1, thus resulting in a 0 and a destroyed card. So don’t destroy anything that has the boost ability, such as the Sea Devil.

Once destroyed or used the Mandragora will summon a minion regardless.
