The Junon region is the second location in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth FF7R to feature a list of new intel. This includes fiend intel, Activation Intel and even Phenomenon Intel. The latter of which relates to Fort Condor, where you can unlock the Fort Condor Commander achievement.
JUNON FIEND INTEL IN FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH
Granted the Junon region has a lot less intel than the previous Grasslands region from chapter 2. However, it still maintains its fair share of Fiend Intel. Of which there is a total of 4 fiends for us to find and track down.
Our fiends this time around includes; Cacophonic Corvid, Zemze Breaks, Scorched Earth, and Weather the Storm. Which involves foes such as Fonadu, Whymzelett, Lavalisk, and Stormwing.
WHERE TO FIND THE FIENDS
All four of these foes are scattered throughout the Junon region. Since the area is rather large and thus it can take a while to traverse through. More so if you have no idea where you are going. So the best course of action is to first locate the Activation Intel. There are 5 in total.

Once you have managed to find one of these Activation Intel stations you can then interact with them to unlock more key areas of the map. These include, otherwise hidden, digging locations, treasure and, of course, the locations to the Fiend Intel. They are so much easier to find now, right? Well they should be at least!

FIEND OBJECTIVES!
Unlike most of the intel research that is listed within Junon, these Fiend Intel have their own unique extra objectives. Though they are not mandatory to actually complete. In fact during my adventures on Youtube I have seen several comments on being over leveled to the point that these foes end up being sliced in one-hit.
So I guess to truly reap the benefits of these intels you should do them straight away. In order to give yourself that extra satisfaction of completing these objectives with their original intended difficulty.
Some of these objectives include; Pressure an enemy, Stagger and enemy, defeat all enemies within the time limit, avoid being hit by a certain attack, and sometimes avoid enemies from using certain attacks.
GOOD TRAINING!
Essentially these Fiend Intel have been designed to just train you through the world and get used to the combat mechanics. Great if you did not play the first entry into the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, or perhaps are just in need of some extra practise.

LIST OF FIEND INTEL
So are you ready to begin? Lets start shall we? Here we will talk about the different fiends, its extra objectives and, more importantly, how to defeat them.
CACOPHONIC CORVID
- FIEND INTEL: 1
- TARGET: Fonadu
- OBJECTIVES: Pressure an enemy, Stagger and enemy, Defeat the enemy within the time limit

HOW TO PRESSURE A TARGET
In order to be able to pressure an enemy target in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth you will need to learn of its strengths and weaknesses. We can do this by using the Assess ability, which should be one of the original starting materia.
Equip the Assess materia and use it on your foes to learn of its weakness and, from there, simply take advantage of it. In this case the Fonadu is weak to wind based elemental spells, so Aero is perfect for the job!
HOW TO STAGGER AN ENEMY TARGET
Being able to stagger an enemy target is essentially the same as pressuring them. You maintain the pressure and advantage of using its weakness. Once the target has been pressured the ATB bar beneath its health will increase much faster than normal.
One of the earlier abilities that I have noticed that is useful to help boost the chances of staggering a foe is by using Barret’s Charge ability as it unleashes quite a bit of damage once fully charged. But a combination of character abilities from your entire party should make this an easy objective!

BATTLE STRATEGY
I done this fight as soon as I was able, so roughly Lv 24. However, it wasn’t too tough regardless. Just try to keep an eye on your health at all times. As Fonadu fights solo and does not spawn any of its minions into play you can gang up on it rather easily.
Barret and using spells is probably your best bet due to it being a flying creature and making it more difficult for melee and close range fighters to get a hit in.
It’s Death From Above attacks means it can lunge itself into your party causing damage to anyone in its path. Whilst it’s Gorge ability allows it to simply peck at a selected party member.
ZEMZE BREAKS
- FIEND INTEL: 2
- TARGET: Whymzelett
- OBJECTIVES: Stagger an enemy, Prevent enemies from taking flight when using Soothing Breeze, Defeat all enemies within the time limit

HOW TO PREVENT ENEMY FROM TAKING FLIGHT (SOOTHING BREEZE)
The objectives for this fiend intel is relatively the same as the previous Fiend Intel. However, instead of pressuring the enemy we need to make sure it does not cast Soothing Breeze. Since we are dealing with 2 Whymzelett this is easier said than done.
So get ready to spend a lot of the fight keeping an eye on both enemy targets throughout the duration of them both still alive. When one falls it makes things more easier.
However, to avoid them using the Soothing Breeze ability simply either use a spell or an attacking ability immediately when you see the attack being performed. If you are too late the Soothing Breeze ability will trigger and failing this just once means you have failed this objective.
Taking advantage of its weakness will make disabling the ability much easier.

BATTLE STRATEGY
The Whymzelett fight as a team and they are both large flying creatures. They often use their large wings to fire projectile attacks. However, they are rather weak to ice elemental damage, so using materia such as Blizzard is a good choice.

SCORCHED EARTH
- JUNON FIEND INTEL: 3
- TARGET: Lavalisk
- OBJECTIVES: Pressure an enemy, Stagger an enemy, Defeat all enemies within the time limit

HOW TO PRESSURE A LAVALISK
Pressuring a Lavalisk is no different to pressuring a Fonadu, whereas you take full advantage of its weakness. In this case, it is Blizzard. They do not like the cold. In fact after one simple cast of an icy spell you should trigger it’s pressure point. Making it then easier to follow-up with a stagger.

BATTLE STRATEGY
Now this battle may become a bit tricky as there are quite a few Lavalisk. All of which enjoy jumping at you and forcing you to keep an eye on your health. Thankfully as mentioned before they easily pressured and thus staggered.

WEATHER THE STORM FIEND INTEL
- FIEND INTEL: 4
- TARGET: Stormwing
- OBJECTIVES: Pressure an enemy, Stagger an enemy, Defeat all enemies within the time limit

HOW TO PRESSURE A STORMWING
We can easily pressure a Stormwing by taking advantage of wind based elemental spells, such as Aero. Cast the spell at them and as soon as it hits the target it should provoke its pressure point. This then allows us to follow up with more pressure, which will lead into a stagger.
Once you know how to scan the enemies weakness and then use that weakness to your advantage most of these fights are then easy to complete. Full objectives and a complete victory!
