How to Unlock the Gothic Remake Mercy Over Madness Trophy

You can unlock the Mercy Over Madness achievement if you didn’t get Gomez’s Ore Armor from the locked chest in his room before The Dreamer’s Nightmare main quest. If you stole the Ore Armor, reload a previous save file or try to sell the armor.

How to Trigger the Dialogue Line That Allows You to Spare Gomez’s Life

Progress into Chapter 5 and complete The Dreamer’s Nightmare main quest. Return to Xardas and he will give you the quest to charge Uriziel. Ask Xardas about the magic armor and learn that Gomez has it. Go to the Old Camp castle and talk to Gomez. Select the following dialogue options:

• Let’s talk about this.
• No. I need it to destroy the Sleeper.
• What do you want?

Gomez will agree to give you the armor in exchange for a teleportation rune to the Sunken Tower. So, in order to spare Gomez and get the Mercy Over Madness trophy, you need to find this rune.

How to Find a Teleportation Rune and Get the Gothic Remake Mercy Over Madness Achievement

To get the teleportation rune for Gomez, you need to explore an optional area, Xardas’ Sunken Tower.

Explore the tower and collect the Robe of the Dark Arts armor. Head back into the corridor, turn left, and open the locked gate.

The lockpicking combination is:

• Plate 3 – 6 positions to the right.
• Plate 4 – 3 positions to the right.
• Plate 1 – 2 positions to the right.
• Plate 3 – 2 positions to the right.
• Plate 5 – 2 positions to the left.

Loot the chest to get the teleportation rune for Gomez. Return to Gomez and give him the rune to unlock the Mercy Over Madness trophy.
