The (KCD2) Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 nests will pop up on your map as you walk past them. They are basically bird nests that can contain a ton of useful items, such as lockpicks and money. So let’s see what they are and how you can benefit from them!
What Are Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Nests?
The Kingdom Come Deliverance (KCD 2) nests are exactly what the game says they are: bird nests. You probably have seen them on your map and wondered what their use is. You never know what they may hide until you search them. The trouble is that getting to them is not that easy.
How to Spot Nests
Whenever you pass a nest, the icon appears on the map and you get a message saying you have discovered a nest. You look around, but you don’t see it. That’s because nests are found in trees. This is, after all, a realistic game. You wouldn’t expect to see a nest on the ground in real life.
When you get the nest notification, point the cursor up and take a good look at the nearby trees. The nest is where the icon says it is, but you have to check the trees to spot them. They are not easy to see, but after you find your first one, you know what to look for. Pay attention to the chirp coming from birds, as it gets louder when you are close to a nest.
How to Loot KCD2 Bird Nests
To loot a nest, you have to knock it down first. You can do this by shooting an arrow, but that’s not always recommended. For starters, you don’t have a bow and arrows in the beginning and you also don’t want to waste arrows. Secondly, nests are sometimes found in settlements. Taking out a weapon in a settlement is not a good idea. If someone sees you, you are in trouble. Luckily, throwing rocks is not a punishable offense.
Crouch, aim at the nest, and throw rocks at it. You have an unlimited supply of rocks, so that’s no issue. When you hit a nest, it will fall to the ground. However, it can roll away if the ground is uneven.
Why Are They Important?
If the game notifies you of their presence, they must be important. If you’ve played the first game, you are already aware that nests contain all sorts of items.
What can you find in a nest:
- Lockpicks.
- Bandages.
- Money.
- Jewelry.
- Weapon crafting materials.
- Herbs.
- Eggs.
In the beginning, resources are scarce. That’s why nests are a great way to get helpful items. Lockpicks are hard to come by and you don’t want to waste your money buying them. Check all the nests you find and you will have some to practice your lockpicking.
Eggs provide nourishment, however you are better off selling them. They spoil fast and you will get the Food Poisoning buff if you eat rotten food. Food is easy to find anyway. Henry will have no trouble getting his meals, so you should sell the eggs for money.
