The (KCD2) Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Melee Weapons fall into several categories depending on their type and damage. These include; Slash, Stab and Blunt based weapons. Let’s see how weapons work!
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Damage Types
KCD 2 has three types of damage:
- Slash.
- Stab.
- Blunt.
To learn how weapons work, you must first understand the types of damage. The target will receive more or less damage of a certain type based on its armor. Slash damage deals more damage to enemies that are wearing light armor or none at all. Stab damage is for stabbing attacks to enemies that are not wearing face covers. Blunt damage works best against enemies wearing heavy armor. Each weapon deals one or more types of damage.

Combat is a big part of the KCD2. The game offers a wide range of weapons, so you can choose whichever suits your Henry best. However, selecting the right weapon for a particular fight is more than just a personal preference.
The game has three types of melee weapons:
- Swords.
- Heavy Weapons.
- Polearms.
Swords
The Swords category has the following weapons:
- Shortswords.
- Broadswords.
- Longsword.
- Hunting Swords.
- Sabers.
These balanced weapons mostly deal Slash and Stab damage. Swords rely on the Strength and Agility main stats. Master Strikes only work when using a sword. The recommendation is to use swords when fighting against lightly armored foes, such as common bandits or animals.
Heavy Weapons
The Heavy category has the following weapons:
- Maces.
- Warhammers.
- Axes.
- Clubs.
Heavy weapons deal Slash and Blunt damage. They rely on Strength and Agility. While you cannot perform Master Strikes with heavy weapons, they are excellent tools for breaking the enemy’s defense. The recommendation is to use heavy weapons when fighting against knights clad in heavy armor. Also, you should wear a shield for blocking, as heavy weapons suffer more durability damage when parrying and blocking.
(KCD2) Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Melee Weapons – Polearms
The Polearms category has the following weapons:
- Halberds.
- Staves.
- Spears.
Polearms deal all types of damage and have a longer range than swords and heavy weapons. They are the most versatile weapons. However, there are two disadvantages when wielding polearms. They are slow weapons, meaning you might have trouble when facing multiple enemies. Polearms work best against single targets. Also, you need to invest several points into their skill category to use them effectively.
