Smile Again is a Like a Dragon Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii substory. It involves a scene over at the taco truck. Where you will encounter a homeless man. Let’s see what you need to do to complete this side task and unlock a new crew member, Jeff.
How to Start Smile Again
First, you need to complete The Symbol of the City, the Street Surfer substory. Head to West Waikiki in Honolulu and find the taco truck on the northern side. Get close to the truck to trigger a cutscene. The substory will begin automatically as you watch the cutscene. After the cutscene in which a homeless man refuses a free taco, approach the truck and interact with the owner.
You learn that this wasn’t always a legitimate food business. The taco on the counter catches Majima’s eye and he reluctantly agrees to taste it.
How to Complete Smile Again
It’s time to try the taco and three options are available:
- Just lick the sauce.
- Take a bite.
- Eat the whole thing.
You can pick any option you like. It turns out that the sauce is extremely spicy and not at all to Majima’s liking. He agrees to come back later. You can immediately proceed with the second objective. Interact with Jeff and buy an item from the menu. The food is decent this time, but Majima still wants to eat one of Jeff’s tacos, so he promises to visit another time.
The Second Visit
You need to wait a bit before eating again. You can fast travel to another area and come back to the taco truck. Interact with Jeff and learn that he has been taking cooking lessons. An old associate of Jeff’s interrupts your conversation.
After Kirk leaves, Jeff reveals to Majima what he used to do in the past. He gave up that kind of life to become a better father. Majima encourages him and orders a Special Taco from the menu. He says he will come back.
The Third Visit
You can complete other activities or just fast travel to another area and return. As Majima prepares to eat a taco, Kirk comes back and he is not alone.
A fight begins. After you defeat Kirk and his buddies, you finally have the chance to taste Jeff’s improved tacos. Your rewards for completing the substory include a Hawaiian Silver Ring and Jeff as a crew member.
