How Pathologic 3 Amalgam Works
Amalgam allows you to travel back in time and to keep playing. Daniil’s mind is your Amalgam container. It is kept in the unbroken parts of your mind. As you collect this resource, the unbroken parts become white. It is important to never run out of it. Depleting your Amalgam reserve puts you in danger of restarting the game from the beginning. The first time you die, Daniil returns to the mirror room. The game essentially offers a one-time chance to restock and keep playing. The next time you die without Amalgam, the game ends. Running out of Pathologic 3 Amalgam is something you want to avoid at all costs.
How to Refill Amalgam
There are four ways to collect Amalgam:
- Break mirrors.
- Complete side tasks.
- Talk to Eva at the end of the day.
- Kill infested citizens.
Break Mirrors to Obtain Amalgam
This is the most dependable method for restocking Amalgam. You will find mirrors while exploring buildings and various town locations. However, mirrors don’t have a fixed spawn location. Daily exploration is a healthy habit that will allow you to continue playing. Whenever you find a mirror, interact with it to collect Amalgam, unless you are already at full capacity.
Complete Mind Map Thoughts (Side Quests)
Mind map thoughts are Pathologic 3’s take on side quests. Some thoughts require time traveling. These are the ones that give you the most Amalgam. Thoughts that don’t involve going back in time yield little Amalgam or none. If you are already low on Amalgam, the recommendation is to complete same-day thoughts and find mirrors to restock before adventuring back in time.
Talk to Eva
The game offers a daily Amalgam bonus for talking to Eva at the end of your day. This works only once per single day, so you cannot abuse this mechanic to farm Pathologic 3 Amalgam.
Kill Infested Citizens
As you explore different districts, you will run into infested citizens. The only way to help them is to offer a quick death by stabilizing their heart rate with drugs. Should you succeed, you get Amalgam. However, there’s always the possibility of failure, meaning you will lose HP and resources. Don’t attempt this unless you have enough supplies.
