Silent Hill 2 Remake Western South Vale is a huge game area with plenty of optional zones. In this walkthrough, we explore the mandatory location, Jacks Inn.

Silent Hill 2 Remake Western South Vale – Arrival

James enters Western South Vale after his encounter with Pyramid Head in the Blue Creek area. Before walking along the street towards Laura, make sure to loot the cars for handgun ammo and HP drinks. You eventually end up in Rosewater Park. Explore it for useful items and approach the pier to watch the next cutscene. This is when James meets Maria, a lookalike of his dead wife, Mary. She tells him of a special place and proposes to lead James there. The road leads through Jacks Inn, so this is where you’ll head next.

Silent Hill 2 Remake Western South Vale – Jacks Inn Puzzle

Cross the street from the Rosewater Park exit and go south. You will arrive at a locked gate. To obtain the key, you must solve the puzzle in the reception. Find the note directing you to Room 107. Head upstairs and enter the room next to it, as door 107 is locked. After collecting the handgun ammo and HP drink, break the wall connecting Room 108 to Room 107. The code is:

• 0451 on Easy and Standard difficulty.
• 0533 on Hard difficulty.

Go back to the reception area and obtain the Gate Key. Be wary of a Mannequin attacking Maria. From now on, you will need to protect Maria from enemies, so don’t wander too far from her. Defeat the creature and grab the HP drink. Go to the first floor, enter the room, and observe what James has to say about it. Once you are done with Jacks Inn, you can continue exploring Western South Vale.

The Garage

The garage is in the eastern part of the area. Check out the cars for HP drinks. One of the car jacks doesn’t have a lever. You will find this in the gas station to the west. Make sure to pick up all the handgun ammo and HP consumables you come across. The garage has a Strange Photo collectible.

Bowl-O-Rama

Head west of Jacks Inn to obtain more ammo and an HP syringe. Watch out for the Mannequin lying in ambush. Bowl-O-Rama is west of Octantis Fuel, the gas station where you’ve found the lever. Luckily, this area doesn’t have any enemies. The backroom has a save point you can use if you stray too far from Jacks Inn.

Silent Hill Historical Society

Once you’ve explored the garage, the gas station, and Bowl-O-Rama, take the western road until you encounter the fog. Continue with caution as this area has many hostile creatures. Walk until you get to the corpse that has some handgun ammo next to it. Go back to the Silent Hill Historical Society and explore the nearby parking lot to retrieve handgun ammo from the cars. Now, you can return to Jacks Inn and advance past the locked gate.
