Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Game Guides

How to unlock Stealing the Show and getting Rufus’s approval in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth FF7R. This occurs during chapter 4, whilst you are exploring Junon.

Whilst in Junon we will unlock our next set of intel and be forced to perform in a celebration parade to welcome President Rufus. The trophy achievement itself requires you to complete a few prior steps before we can actually get to the actual parade itself.

GATHERING YOUR TROOPS

As soon as you reach the topside of Junon by riding the dolphin and activating a series of panels to operate a lift for your companions, we will then be in Shinra territory. The whole area is swarmed with Shinra troops all preparing for the upcoming parade.

Our main mission objective will now change to ‘No ”I” in ”Team”. Where we will need to locate and form the Seventh Infantry. There is a total of 10 members altogether to be found.

Rcruiting for the Seventh Infantry

These troops are often found in blue Shrinra soldier uniform and are all found scattered across the Junon Aerodrome. Some of these troopers will require you to take photos of cardboard cutouts before joining you, whilst others will simply need you to interact and speak with them. Claim and find all 10 of these Seventh Infantry to make things easier for the parade

Once you have successfully managed to find all 10 of these Shinra soldiers we can then proceed on with the parade by speaking with the Commander of the division, who will be dressed in red. We can then edit and organize our Parade Formations.

PARADE PERFORMANCE

The celebratory parade will feature a total of 3 performances. These are categorized as the Ramuh Formation, Shiva Formation and Bahamut Formation. They are each given stars based on difficulty. The more difficult the performance the better our end score will be.

PARTICIPATING UNITS

Below the performance category we then have the Participating Units. These are basically the type of Shinra Soldiers that we acquired. Which consist of Grenadiers, Riot Troopers, Flametroopers, and Security Officers.

The Formation Bonus is based on how we place our units and where. Both the performance category and Formation Bonus help generate our end score. As our goal is to please President Rufus we will need to try and achieve a big enough end score. So play around with these categories. Get adjusted to it all.

Forming the correct Parade Formation for Stealing the Show

HOW TO PLEASE PRESIDENT RUFUS

So we have managed to successfully gather our troops and learnt how to organize our units. What next? What is the correct formation and how do we please Rufus exactly?

Well to do that we need a proper strategy. This actually means we need to organize our units properly.

PERFORMANCE SETUP

The performance setup also needs to be adjusted accordingly. This will change as we place our units. Now as we need to generally play with the highest setting and therefore the full 3 stars for each performance. This can only actually happen with the correct formation.

PARTICIPATING UNITS

The correct unit formation is as follows; Grenadiers, Riot Troopers, and Flametroopers. Whilst leaving the remaining Security Officers as the reserve.

This then gives us a Formation Bonus of 2, as both the Grenadiers and Riot Troopers link up to each other. Forming our bonus.

Now we are ready to begin.

THE PARADE BEGINS!

Once you are ready proceed and speak with the unit Commander once again. This will trigger a cinematic of the parade. However, don’t sit down and enjoy it just yet, we are not done.

Our next task is to perform a quick time event. So have that controller ready and as we are on the hardest difficulty you will need to be fast and prepared. Though, a few mistakes is acceptable.

Perform well to unlock the Stealing the Show trophy achievement

ITS ALL IN THE PERFORMANCE

There is a total of 3 performances to go through. All of which requires quick button prompts. Try to chain your button prompts to generate higher scores and increase your fan base and the general crowd.

During the performance you will be given three different varieties of button prompts each with their own color and technique method.

FANCY COLORS

For example the red button prompts require you to quickly hit the correct button. Whilst the Yellow requires you to continuously tap the preferred button and, finally, the blue will want you to keep the button pressed.

The first two performances will mix both the red and yellow methods and the final will features a mixture of all three.

Being rewarded with the Outstanding Performance reward

Once all of the performances have been done and complete you will then be greeted with another cinematic. Now we can watch and relax. Although here we also get our results too. These awards consist of both the Outstanding Performance award and the Commendation reward.

The Outstanding Performance award will be read out by Heidegger and, on a normal playthrough, this award usually goes to the Mako Unit led by Roche. However, if you successfully managed to pull of the three performances really well it should be rewarded to the Midgard’s Seventh Infantry. Thus unlocking the Stealing the Show trophy achievement.

As for the Commendation award that one is the only reward that is actually scripted. Meaning it goes to Midgard’s Seventh Infantry regardless of the performance.
