The Blood of Dawnwalker Bakir is one of the boyars in Brencis’ court. At the end of the Lunar Games, you can fight him and decide his fate. Let’s see what you must do to defeat him!
How to Defeat Bakir in The Blood of Dawnwalker
Once the Lunar Games are over, Coen will join Bakir for a feast. Choose these dialogue options during the conversation to remain undercover:
- I’m sorry, but I’m not taking the mask off.
- With pleasure.
- Cheers.
- To friendship and good fortune.
- I want to die in my sleep at a ripe old age./My wish is to die fighting, not quietly in my bed.
- Is that all?
- I saw no need to be cruel./I thought you might want to eat them later.
Bakir will then take you to his lair where you can fight him alone. Pick the “I just want to rip out yours” dialogue line and the fight will begin.
Bakir Boss Fight
Bakir is one tough opponent. He has a lot of HP and strong attacks. Throughout the encounter, the boss uses four attack patterns.
Melee Attacks
Bakir delivers a quick series of kicks and punches. Parry these attacks to stun him.
Blood Wave Attack
Swirls of blood appearing around the boss is the cue for the Blood Wave attack. The boss will disappear from sight and send waves of blood towards you. Dodge left or right to avoid the attack. He will perform this attack a few times, so be ready to dodge multiple times.
Blood Birds
Halfway through The Blood of Dawnwalker Bakir encounter, the boss starts using the Blood Birds attack. He summons several Blood Birds around him and sends them at you one by one. Wait until they get close and then dodge.
Blood AOE
After losing two thirds of his HP, Bakir gains a new attack. Keep an eye on the HP bar and be ready to move away from the boss when blood appears at his feet. You’ll lose a lot of HP if you get caught in this attack.
Coen can get close and deal damage when Bakir is not performing his special attacks. Other than the times you have to avoid attacks, try to stay close to the boss. The Piercing Shriek ability is useful in this fight.
Should You Kill or Drain Bakir?
Once The Blood of Dawnwalker Bakir encounter ends, you have two choices:
- Kill him.
- Drink his blood.
Killing him at the end of the fight has no real benefit. Drinking Bakir’s blood unlocks the Shadowstorm ability. Inviting him in allows you to use his attacks in the fight against Brencis. You can still loot his corpse and his treasures after draining him, so the best option is to drink his blood.
