How to Unlock the Different Endings in Lords of the Fallen

To unlock the different endings in Lords of the Fallen, follow this guide:

The Radiant Ending

The Radiant Ending is probably the most popular ending within Lords of the Fallen because getting it is very easy. All you need to do is cleanse all five beacons that you encounter on your journey. Then, at the end of the game, defeat Adyr, and you will unlock the Radiant Ending!

The Radiant ending is the default/good ending in Lords of the Fallen. During this ending, you successfully cleanse the beacons and get rid of humanity’s main threat- Adyr. However, in doing so, you also end up killing off your own character! So whether you choose this ending will all come down to how selfless you want to be.

After you successfully complete this route, you will be rewarded with the ‘In Light we Walk’ secret achievement. This is worth 15 points.

The Inferno/Adyr Ending

The second of the Different Endings in Lords of the Fallen is called the Inferno/Adyr ending. To unlock this ending, you need to actively avoid cleansing any beacons. To do this, make sure to follow these steps during your playthrough:

  • Upgrade the Rune of the Adyr to the Empowered Rune of Adyr.
  • Then go back and destroy all five beacons in the Tower of Penance, the Empyrean, the Fief of the Chill Curse, Upper Calrath, and the Forsaken Fen, using the Empowered Rune to do so.
  • Kill Judge Cleric.
  • At the end of the game, talk to Iselle using your Empowered Rune of Adyr.

The Inferno ending is classed as the ‘Evil’ ending in Lords of the Fallen. This is because you’ll end up siding with Adyr instead of defeating him! By doing so, you do keep your character alive. But, you also let out a massive threat to humanity and put the entire human race in jeopardy.

If you don’t buy Orius’ propaganda, this is definitely the ending to go for.

Upon completing the Inferno Ending, you will earn the ‘Lord of the Risen’ achievement, which is worth 15 points.

The Umbral Ending

The last of the different endings in Lords of the Fallen is the Umbral ending, also known as the secret ending. This is by far the most difficult ending to go for, but it’s also one of the most interesting.

To unlock this ending, you need to destroy every beacon you come across and betray virtually every NPC that you meet. After doing this, you will actually side with the Putrid Mother at the end of the game! This results in the entire world being devoried, and a whole new one created.

After unlocking the Umbral Ending, you are rewarded with the ‘Back to the Void’ achievement. This is worth 15 points.

Which is the Best Ending in Lords of the Fallen?

By now, you’re probably wondering which of the different endings in Lords of the Fallen is the best to go for. Well, the answer to this question all comes down to personal preference, and how you enjoy playing.

If you like being the good guy and also want the most straightforward route, then go for the radiant ending. Sure, you will die, but you’ll die a hero!

If you prefer the darker side of Lords of the Fallen, then side with Adyr and opt for the Inferno ending. Just make sure you destroy all of the beacons along the way or you’ll end up with the Radiant ending.

And if you like a real challenge, and to experience something that most players never will, try and go for the Umbral Ending. It will make your playthrough much harder, but this storyline is absolutely worth the effort!
