The Black Myth Wukong Drunken Boar quest is one of the optional game activities. While not mandatory for the story completion, the Drunken Boar quest opens the gate to the Kingdom of Sahali, the secret Chapter 2 area.
How to Start the Black Myth Wukong Drunken Boar Side Quest
To start the quest Sun Wukong must find the Yellow-Robbed Squire, aka the Drunken Boar.
Where to Locate the Drunken Boar
- Make your way to the Yellow Wind Ridge and travel to the Fright Cliff.
- Go towards the Rockrest Flat shrine.
- Head to the back of the Rockrest Flat area.
- Walk past the wooden fence until you find yourself in a large field.
Spot the giant boar taking a rest against a rock. He is drunk and cannot move. The Drunken Pig asks Sun Wukong for help. You need to find a remedy for his state. If you talk to him again, he gives you a clue on where to find the item. The clue is Windrest.

Black Myth Wukong Drunken Boar Side Quest – Step 1: Obtain the Sobering Medicine
There are two ways of fulfilling the Drunken Boar’s request.
Get the Sobering Stone from the Man in Stone
If you completed the Man in Stone side quest, you can buy the quest item from the Man in Stone vendor. However, the price is 6480 Will. Should you not want to spend Will on a hangover cure, you have the alternative of finding the item yourself.
Where to Find Find the Sobering Stone:
- Follow the Drunken Boar’s tip and travel to the Yellow Wind Formation.
- Cross the Windrest Bridge and take the road to the Crouching Tiger Temple to arrive at the Windrest Hamlet.
- Make a left and you should spot a large building. If you see two enemies guarding it you are on the right track.
- Take down the Blazebone on the left side of the building.
- On the right side, you will spot an opening hiding a glowing pot.
- The Sobering Stone is inside the pot.
Go back to the Drunken Boar and give him the stone. Once sobered up, he is in the mood for a meaty meal. Speak to him again to get a clue on the next part of the quest. You will learn that the rat corpses near the Crouching Tiger Temple are the Drunken Boar’s favorite meal.
Step 2 – Fulfill the Next Request
For the second part of the Drunken Boar side quest, you need to go to the Crouching Tiger Temple.
Where to Find the Drunken Boar in the Crouching Tiger Temple
- Take a shrine to the Temple Entrance.
- Go up the stairs.
- Make a left before you reach the top.
The Drunken Boar is under one of the massive tiger statues. Sick from the meat, he now craves a vegetarian delight. You need to bring him a Jade Lotus.
Give the Drunken Boar a Jade Lotus
By this stage, you should have a Jade Lotus in your bags. They are found in almost all lakes and ponds.
Give the Jade Lotus to the boar and he will mention something about the Realm of Gold. Your next task is to find the piece of gold.
Black Myth Wukong Drunken Boar – Step 3: Obtain the Arhat Gold Piece
The piece of gold drops from the First Prince of Flowing Sands. If you fought him before, use the Pungent Flesh Chunk to call him again. If you didn’t, go to the Valley of Despair and ask the rat king to summon the Prince. No matter which option you choose, you have to take down the Prince to acquire the Arhat Gold Piece.
Black Myth Wukong Drunken Boar – Step 4: Fight the Yellow-Robed Squire Boar
Go back to the Rockrest Flat, where you first met the Drunken Boar. He is in front of a large door. The once-drunken Boar covets the piece of gold. He will try to take it by force. Defeat him in battle. He will then ask you to explore the Realm of Gold together. You can now enter the Kingdom of Sahali through the large door.
