In Memoriam is one of the Dragon Age the Veilguard (DATV) side quests. It’s a detective-type mission sending Rook on a pursuit to bring peace to murder victims. Let’s see what you must do to solve the cases.

How to Start In Memoriam Quest – Dragon Age The Veilguard (DATV)

Begin by making your way to Razikale Walk. Look around for the corpse with the sword in it. Get close to investigate the remains. Several enemies will appear. You need to defeat Despondence and the Superior Shades.

Despondence is the main concern of this fight. It has the Glass Cannon and Exploding modifiers and an annoying attack that blinds you. Despondence is resistant to Cold damage and vulnerable to Fire damage. Use Fire-based skills to make quick work of it and the Superior Shades. Melee attacks work best for this fight. As soon as Despondence is down, you can resume the investigation on the sword. A spirit NPC named Compassion will appear and task you with the quest.

In Memoriam Walkthrough

The mission requires you to solve the bridge murder and find two more victims. The fight against Despondence counts as one victim found and halfway to solving the bridge murder. Track the quest to see where you need to go next.

The marker takes you to the location of the clue for the bridge murder. Investigate the shed and acquire Hortensia’s Garden Journal. Read the journal and the spirit will appear once again. The “Solve Bridge Murder” objective will be marked as complete.

The next objective takes you to the Urthemiel Venue. Use the ladders to go up following the quest marker. Jump over the gaps and you will arrive at the Spare Coin Way. Go through the hallway and reach Andrastate’s Watch. Notice the sword in the corpse. Attempt to investigate it and several enemies will appear: Remorse and Shade foes.

Remorse is similar to Despondence that you fought in the beginning of the quest. Defeat it and Compassion will appear, giving you the next task.

The quest marker takes you to Spare Coin Way. Look to the right to find another victim. Investigate the body and Isolation will spawn. Defeat it and get close to the body. Compassion will appear to mark this task as complete.

Solve the Temple and Market Murders

Dragon Age the Veilguard In Memoriam Market and Temple Murders

To complete the Solve the Temple Murder objective, go to the Temple Courtyard. Take down the Venatori and go to the northern section of Andraste’s Watch. Look around and find the Property of Marcus, Scholar note. Compassion appears and the objective is completed.

To complete the Solve the Market Murder objective, go to Urthemiel Venue and find the ladder near the fast travel point. Use the ladder to go up and find the Charcoal Drawing of a Rooftop drawing. Compassion makes one final appearance and the quest is now complete.
