How to Begin the Hydro Puzzle Mission in Dying Light the Beast

Play through the campaign and finish the Power Gambit main quest. As soon as you complete this main mission, you will get a request from Pietro to restore power to the station as part of the Cable Guy side quest. Help Pietro with the task to unlock the next quest in line, Hydro Puzzle.

Pietro will contact you, asking to find out what’s happening with the water supply. Head to the Industrial Pumping Station to investigate the issue.

How to Complete the Hydro Puzzle Side Quest in Dying Light the Beast

Once you are in the quest area, take care of the enemies. Enter the building through the broken window next to the car and head down the stairs. The quest objective is to the left, behind a metal gate. Jump above the objective marker and land behind the gate. Investigate the valve and contact Pietro to update the quest objective.

The Waterworks Repair Facility

Head to the objective location marked on the map. Notice the scaffolding next to the building. Use it to reach the roof and enter the building through the air duct. After dropping down inside, you will land in an office with a safe on the desk. The safe code is in the next room. Lockpick the door and find the code on the desk. Use the code 27-1-15 to open the safe and collect the key. Exit the room and follow the signs to the Chief Engineer’s office. Defeat the enemies as you go downstairs towards the office. Enter it and consult Pietro, as you investigate the water schematic on the wall behind the desk. Your next destination is the Sewer Maintenance Point in the Old Town.

The Sewer Maintenance Point

Head to the marked location. Lockpick the door and check the gauges. Contact Pietro and listen to the sound coming from under the floor. Pull the metal plate and descend into the sewers. Now, you need to find the source of the sound by following the yellow pipe.

Make a right after the pipe disappears into the wall. Enter the crawlspace, following the yellow pipe that now runs on the ceiling. Enter the room on the right, it’s the one before the stairs.

Jump up the yellow panel and make a left to find the yellow pipe. Follow it, defeating the zombies along the way. Make a left towards the objective marker and talk to the people behind the door. The water problem is now fixed. Your next task is to make sure the survivors can leave the place. But first, there’s one secret area to explore. After receiving the admin key, don’t head straight for the marked door.

Hydro Puzzle Safe and Secret Area

Go through the door partially blocked by the table and follow the yellow pipe.

Enter the crawlspace under the metal grate floor and turn right twice. Go left, following the yellow line on the wall. Smash the crates to reveal another crawlspace.

You will discover a room with a safe. Open the locker on the left to collect the UV Bar and use it to discover the safe code 21-69-35. You can now return to the marked door and continue the quest. Unlock the marked door, take the stairs, and jump up to enter the crawlspace on the left.

Use the electricity box and take the stairs up to exit the building. Interact with the two NPCs outside and end the quest to receive 10000 XP, two Beginner Training Manuals, and the Bruiser Arm Protectors.
