How to Start and Complete the Echoes of Aincrad Taming the Wilderness Side Quest

The side quest becomes available in the Town of Beginnings after finding the Taming the Wilderness side quest trinket during the Secret Medicine of the Forest main quest. As you progress through the main quest objective, Search for the Flowering Nepenthes, you will come across the Pieces of Armor side quest trinket north of the Doltir Road checkpoint.

Investigate the object to trigger the Taming the Wilderness side quest.

How to Obtain the Earthly Jacket Blueprint

Make your way to the Town of Beginnings and interact with the guard NPC to start the quest. From the town entrance, enter the alley on the left just before the gate, and make a right. You will spot an NPC with a quest mark over his head.

Talk to the guard and accept the mission. Go to a main terminal and activate the Echoes of Aincrad Taming the Wilderness side quest. Select your partner, travel to the quest area, and you will immediately find the monster the guard was talking about, the Snowcap Boar.

You’ve encountered the Snowcap Boar before, so you should already be familiar with its attack patterns. Be careful of the attacks that apply the Frozen status and use healing consumables. Once the boss is dead, the quest will be marked as complete and you will obtain the base rewards: 100 XP and three Heat Essences. Return to the guard in the Town of Beginnings and interact with him to get the important reward, the Earthy Jacket blueprint.
